Jakarta, February 23, 2022 – PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), as Pertamina Gas Sub Holding affiliate, held another Energy Exchange Forum (EEF) 2022 with the theme Energizing Natural Gas as Solution for Energy Transition through Synergy, Innovation and Technology Adaptation.
Held virtually, EEF 2022 was attended by the President Director of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk and opened by Wiko Migantoro, the President Director of Pertagas, on Monday (21/2).
In his speech, Wiko said that Pertagas held the EFF event annually that aims to be a sharing forum for knowledge and synergies in the Sub-Holding Gas environment. This is the third time Pertagas has organized EEF.
"In this year's EEF, the number of materials has increased compared to the previous year. This shows our enthusiasm and spirit to grow together in synergy to realize the vision and mission of Sub Holding Gas," said Wiko.
On the first day of EEF 2022, Pertagas presented four main speakers, Arifin Rudiyanto, the Deputy for Maritime Affairs and Natural Resources at BAPPENAS, Montty Girianna, the Deputy III for BUMN Business Development, Research and Innovation at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy and Lenita Tobing and Asheesh Sastry from Boston Consulting Groups.
According to Arifin Rudiyanto, the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy has an important role in achieving Net Zero Emissions, a long-term strategy, and energy transition policy in Indonesia.
“The use of natural gas is one of the bridges for the energy transition towards the use of renewable energy sources. Because natural gas is known as an energy that has very good combustion efficiency, that is clean, environmentally friendly and cheaper compared to petroleum," Arifin said.
Montty Giriana delivered the same thing regarding natural gas usage as transitional energy.
“The use of natural gas is aligned with the government's commitment to reduce the greenhouse effect. The energy transition must be done because the global direction of energy use is towards energy with low emissions. Pertagas can continue to carry out its role in the energy transition by increasing the development of facilities and infrastructure as well as technology such as CNG, LNG, and LPG," Montty said.
The utilization of natural gas as transitional energy has also been carried out in several other countries. It is proved by the increase in demand for natural gas data on Energy Global Demand submitted by Lenita Tobing and Asheesh Sastry. Estimates of global natural gas demand have a positive trend until 2040.
The Gas Sub Holding officers welcomed the four speakers at EFF 2022 enthusiastically. On the first day of EEF, more than 500 participants joined virtually for this event. Through EEF, it is hoped that Gas Sub Holding Officers can gain deeper insight and play an active role in the energy transition program in Indonesia.
EEF 2022 will be held for two days (February 21 - 22) and is one of the series events for the commemorations of Pertagas’s 15th-anniversary, which falls on February 23, 2022. On the second day of EFF, Erika Retnowati, the Head of BPH Migas, will be invited as the main speaker.**
