2 Tanks Successfully Extinguished, Pertamina Continues Maximum Fire Fighting Efforts

Jakarta, March 31, 2021 - After deploying all resources and optimizing the handling of fire incidents of four tanks in the area of T-301 Balongan Refinery, PT Pertamina (Persero) managed to extinguish the fire in 1st tank around 01.30 WIB early this morning, followed by another tank around 06.44 WIB. While the other 2 tanks continued to be extinguished.

"Two hotspots in the T-301 H and T-301 E tanks have been extinguished. The other two tanks, T-301F and T-301G are still in progress," said Senior Vice President of Corporate Communication & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Agus Suprijanto.

Agus added that the fire fighting equipment's set up had been carried out, and the fire fighting would begin immediately after it is in position. The targets are the T-301F and T-301G tank.

Even though the fire has been extinguished at T-301H and T-301E, fire trucks are still cooling them to ensure no more flash.

At the beginning of the incident, Pertamina Emergency Team has contained the hotspot within the bundwall surrounding the T-301 tank. The bundwall and the fire center were extinguished using foam and ten fire engines from Pertamina Group and the local government support.
