26th Anniversary of IHC, Indonesian Healthcare Energy

Jakarta, October 24, 2023 – At age 26, PT Pertamina Bina Medika - Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC) is committed to providing healthcare energy for national health resilience. The IHC Medical Forum serves as the main event of IHC's 26th anniversary celebrations, attended by healthcare experts, doctors, and medical professionals from the IHC Group. Among the topics discussed were Medico-legal aspects, as preparation for anticipating potential medical disputes. Healthcare professionals need to pay attention to patients' rights, exhibit good behavior and communication with patients, ensure that explanations provided are clear and understandable, maintain comprehensive, accurate, and meticulous medical records, practice according to professional standards, service standards, operational procedures, professional ethics, and patient healthcare needs.

As a contribution to reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia, the IHC Medical Forum also provides education on quality pre-pregnancy examinations and Antenatal Care (ANC). This education is crucial in identifying high-risk factors in pregnancy and childbirth.

The role and collaboration of all healthcare professionals in Primary Healthcare Facilities (Fasyankes) and Referral Healthcare Facilities (Fasyankes Rujukan) are also important and highly needed to reduce Maternal Mortality Rates through holistic and structured screening and early referrals for mothers with medical and obstetric issues, including risk factors such as preeclampsia.

President Director of IHC, Dr. Mira Dyah Wahyuni, MARS, emphasized the importance of the Medical Forum as an upskilling of Human Resources (HR) competence in the IHC Group.

"To become a strong Hospital Holding Company that can be on par with major Hospital Holdings in Indonesia and internationally. Following the State-Owned Enterprise's vision to Go Global in leading our country towards Indonesia Emas 2045," said Dr. Mira in her speech during IHC’s 26th-anniversary celebration.

Dr. Mira continued that standardization, transformation, revenue enhancement, and efficiency will be IHC's challenges in the coming year, in addition to improving HR competencies and capabilities in both managerial and service aspects, focusing on maintaining patient safety and quality.

At the same time, IHC invited Indonesian children to participate in a writing competition with the theme "If I Were a Doctor," providing educational opportunities for Indonesian students to play the role of a young doctor.

The tumpeng competition also symbolizes unity and creativity while promoting balanced nutrition for health through protein-rich dishes that adorn tumpeng all over Indonesia.

Doctors also contributed as participants in various competitions, such as quiz competitions. Other competitions included creative video contests on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, morality poster contests, badminton, futsal, and gymnastics.

The anniversary event also featured Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) activities in October, a synergy of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Pertamina, and stakeholders in their commitment to support SDGs numbers 3 and 4, which are quality healthcare and education. This was achieved through health talks, cataract surgeries, eye examinations, glasses distribution to school children, and assistance with retinoblastoma for toddlers in Bandung. At the main event, other social activities included aid for orphans and the less fortunate.
