66th Anniversary: Pertamina Implements Three Long-Term Strategies
Jakarta, December 11, 2023 - PT Pertamina (Persero) held an event celebrating its 66th Anniversary at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta (11/12/2023).
The main event of the 66th Anniversary, themed "Energizing The Nation," was attended by Pertamina's alumni commissioners and directors, Pertamina's management and Sub-holdings, its subsidiaries, and stakeholders.
In his video address, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, expressed his hopes for Pertamina's 66th Anniversary.
"I extend my congratulations on the 66th Anniversary to PT Pertamina (Persero). May Pertamina continue to enhance its commitment to providing the nation's energy needs, realizing national energy self-sufficiency, and accelerating the transition to cleaner and more environmentally friendly energy. Long live Pertamina, keep innovating and achieving, becoming a world-class national energy company," stated President Jokowi.
During this occasion, the President Commissioner of Pertamina, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, was also present. In his speech, he highlighted extraordinary achievements and believed that the support from all parties, from officers to the Board and Management, played a significant role in Pertamina's progress.
"Over the past three years, we have focused on cost optimization. Last year, we recorded the largest profit in our history by letting go of our favorite things. Sometimes, we compromise or endure slight losses for collective gains. We shed anything that burdens us, hindering us from sprinting towards Pertamina's USD 100 billion. I believe that together, with everyone's weaknesses and strengths, we can collaborate in shedding the old ways to a better energy transition process ahead," he stated.
Similarly, the President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, acknowledged the contributions of Pertamina's officers.
"Congratulations on the 66th Anniversary to the officers. Pertamina continues to provide the best service and dedication to this nation up to this point. However, amid various situations and current conditions, we must leave our comfort zone. For this reason, Pertamina is demanded to move quickly, figuring out how we can eventually transform to support the government's energy transition program and achieve net-zero emissions by 2060," she said.
To support energy transformation and transition, Pertamina accompanies three strategies of the Company's Long-Term Plan (RJPP). These strategies are sustainability, a crucial aspect that will determine Pertamina's continuity, urging it to adapt swiftly. Second is digitalization, a component that must exist throughout the Pertamina Group. The third is mastering the technology that can collaborate with all parties.
"We must execute these three things while ensuring they run in parallel. We believe Indonesia can achieve energy self-sufficiency. We must move faster and more agile because future challenges are more demanding. Everyone has their role. We will harmonize and synergize so that the Pertamina Group has the strength to move swiftly towards net-zero emissions by 2060," she concluded.
During this anniversary event, Pertamina also delivered assistance to more than 1,000 foundations in Indonesia, benefiting 3,745 individuals.
Before this main event, Pertamina conducted the RoadToHUT66 Pertamina series. It began with Komunitas Bergerak, involving social actions and volunteerism-based officer community collaboration through seven social volunteerism programs, 21 communities, and 45 cities.
Additionally, there was the Stay Fit Stay Energized initiative, a healthy lifestyle competition among officers through daily challenges, healthy talks, and workouts. There is also Sportartcular, a sport and art competition for officers with seven sports branches, art competitions, and various other talent and art competitions.
