Balikpapan, August 17, 2024 - To commemorate the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), PT Pertamina (Persero) held an Independence Day ceremony at the Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) Refinery Unit (RU) V in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
The Independence Day ceremony was led by the Deputy Minister (Wamen) of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, and attended by the Director of Finance of Pertamina, Emma Sri Martini, the Director of Risk Management, Ahmad Siddik Badruddin, along with all the directors, management, and officers of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) and PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB).
Deputy Minister Kartika Wirjoatmodjo expressed his appreciation and pride in celebrating the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at the RDMP Pertamina Balikpapan Refinery. He urged all Pertamina officers to remain spirited and to safeguard the national energy security.
"Keep the spirit alive; may the refinery be completed soon. Continue to fight for a better Indonesia and the national energy security," Kartika said.
On the same occasion, the Director of Finance of Pertamina, Emma Sri Martini, stated that the 79th Independence Day should be embraced with a spirit of building energy resilience to achieve sustainable energy development.
"Pertamina, with its 'energizing you' spirit, continues to build the nation sustainably. Keep the spirit alive, Pertamina officers, as we build this nation with all our hearts and souls. Keep the spirit alive. Happy Independence Day, Republic of Indonesia— Nusantara Baru, Indonesia Maju," said Emma Sri Martini.
Meanwhile, the Director of Risk Management, Ahmad Siddik Badruddin, stated that Pertamina is also preparing a "gift" for Independence Day in the form of a commitment to implement the Company's Long-Term Plan (RJPP) for 2025-2029. It is an effort to enhance national energy security and to support the new and renewable energy implementation in the coming years. "Happy Independence Day, Republic of Indonesia. New Energy for an Advanced Indonesia," stated Siddik.
Pertamina's Ceremony in Jakarta
At the same time, Pertamina also held a 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony at its Headquarters in Jakarta. All officers working in the Greater Jakarta area attended the ceremony.
The Vice President Director of Pertamina, Wiko Migantoro, who served as the ceremony supervisor, stated that this year's Independence Day theme, “Nusantara Baru Indonesia Maju”, carries the meaning that all Indonesians should have a renewed spirit of unity and equality to achieve all goals, especially as the 79th Independence Day serves as a significant milestone for Indonesia, paving the way toward a Golden Indonesia by 2045.
"The Nusantara Baru Indonesia Maju stems from the same spirit of uniting energy and collectively moving to achieve energy security that can support national progress," he said.
