Actively Involved in response to Covid-19 as a Form of ESG Implementation, Pertamina Receives the 2020 Iconomics CSR Award

PT Pertamina's (Persero) involvement in the handling and prevention of Covid-19 has resulted in awards. Pertamina received the Iconomics CSR Award 2020 in the category "Oil and Gas Covid-19 Emergency Response Initiative - Medical Health Support and MSMEs".

The award was given online from Iconomics, the 2020 CSR Award organizer, and was received by the Vice President of CSR and SMEPP Pertamina, Arya Dwi Paramita, Friday (04/12) night.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said that in carrying out its social and environmental responsibility programs, Pertamina always adheres to ISO 26000 by paying attention to inclusive and collaborative aspects to achieve the target of community independence and support the Government in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. It is also part of the implementation of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) / LST (Environmental, Social, Governance) in the social sector.

"During the Covid-19 pandemic, Pertamina's social responsibility program was focused on efforts to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 through health assistance and community strengthening and assisting MSMEs in surviving during the pandemic. This is a commitment from our ESG implementation always to provide sustainable benefits for the community," said Fajriyah.

Fajriyah added that this award is an appreciation and acknowledgment of Pertamina's active involvement in supporting the Government in its efforts to tackle Covid-19 during 2020.

"This award will boost the enthusiasm of all Pertamina teams and volunteers further to improve the quality of service to the community," added Fajriyah.

Meanwhile, the Founder & CEO of Iconomics, Bram S. Putro, said that the award was based on qualitative research activities that went through 3 stages.

First, identifying companies that have CSR activities in the last year.

Second, media monitoring of Indonesian companies' CSR activities carried out on the news published in national media since January 2020.

Third, analysis of the company's CSR activities based on a voluntary approach to corporate social responsibility.

"This award has an essential value for developing the company's CSR programs for the community, community, and the environment. It is hoped that this award can encourage innovations in the corporate CSR programs that can accelerate economic, social, and cultural recovery due to Covid-19, "he concluded.
