Ahead of Christmas and New Year, North Sumatra Regional Pertamina Patra Niaga Alerts the Task Force Team in North Sumatra

Medan, December 23, 2022 – Approaching Christmas and New Year 2023, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut reactivated the Christmas and New Year Task Force Team (Satgas Nataru) from December 15, 2022, to January 8, 2023. It was done to ensure distribution of energy runs smoothly.

"Energy consumption is predicted to rise due to increased mobility during Christmas and New Year celebrations. In anticipation, Pertamina has alerted the Nataru Task Force Team to ensure supplies and other additional services," said the Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, Freddy Anwar, during a Media Conference in Medan, Wednesday (21/12).

He explained that the Pertamina Nataru Task Force Team had been on duty from December 15, 2022, to January 8, 2023. The Nataru Task Force Team also coordinated with relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Transportation, BPH Migas, Police, Jasa Marga, TNI, and various other parties. This coordination is carried out to achieve smooth energy distribution to the community.

For fuel needs in North Sumatra, Gasoline consumption (Pertalite, Pertamax, Pertamax Turbo) is estimated to increase by 10 percent or from a daily average of 12,581 Kilo Liters (KL) to 13,844 KL per day. Meanwhile, Gasoil consumption (Solar, Dexlite, Pertamina Dex) is predicted to increase by two percent or 9,280 KL to 9,466 KL per day.

An increase is also predicted for LPG consumption of around two percent or 3,057 Metric Tons (MT) to 3,130 MT per day, and for Avtur, an increase of approximately 11 percent or 620 KL to 692 KL per day. This projection is compared to average daily sales.

Freddy said the stock resistance of all fuel products is more than ten days, LPG is at 20 days, and Avtur is at 61 days. It also continues to be produced. Fuel, LPG, and Avtur stocks are guaranteed to be safe and smooth. This stock does not include stock that will be distributed from refineries and ongoing stock from tankers.

"We emphasize that the public do not need to worry because fuel and LPG stocks are in a safe and smooth condition. We will monitor continuously so the community's fuel and LPG needs can be met. For stock, this is the running stock today or not yet included cargo from tankers and supplies from refineries, which supply Pertamina's infrastructure every day," he said.

To ensure that services to the community are well maintained, Pertamina Patra Niaga also provides energy services on potential routes. It includes toll roads, tourist routes, and main traffic routes, in the form of 288 Standby Petrol stations, 81 Standby SPPBE, 669 Standby PSO LPG Agents, 24 Motorists, and 35 Pocket Petrol stations.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut has prepared health posts at four petrol stations located at trans Sumatra and tourism route points, namely Limapuluh District, West Sumatra, Kampar Riau District, Parapat and Brastagi, North Sumatra.

"Among all petrol stations, agents, and LPG outlets, there will be those that we will operate 24 hours during the Christmas and New Year holidays. We will also provide additional services at strategic points. Our focus is on the main route, areas that celebrate Christmas, as well as tourist points, which are the main destinations of the community," he explained.

He also appealed to the public to use fuel wisely and use Pertamina's quality products. In addition, people entitled to consume subsidized fuel can immediately register for the Right Subsidy Program through the website subsiditepat.mypertamina.id.

Previously, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga SH C&T Director of Land Engineering and Infrastructure, Eduward Adolof Kawi, and the management team conducted a Management Walkthrough (MWT) to several Pertamina Patra Niaga SH C&T operating areas on Sunday (18/12). It is done to ensure the distribution of fuel and LPG while ensuring the reliability of the infrastructure, all operational activities and services for the community during Nataru.

Fuel consumption in North Sumatra is predicted to increase

For information, the need for fuel in North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Gasoline consumption (Pertalite, Pertamax, Pertamax Turbo) is expected to increase by 14 percent or from a daily average of 4,793 KL to 5,272 KL per day. Meanwhile, Gasoil consumption (Solar, Dexlite, Pertamina Dex) is predicted to increase by five percent or 3,610 KL to 3,808 KL per day.

An increase is also predicted for LPG consumption of around eight percent or 1,401 Metric Tons (MT) to 1,508 MT per day. This projection is compared to average daily sales.

In addition, specifically in North Sumatra, Pocket Petrol Stations are available to ensure fuel stocks are available at several dense points (tourism and homecoming). It includes Parapat Simalungun Regency, Kabanjahe Karo Regency, Sidikalang Dairi Regency, Pangururan Samosir Regency, Doloksanggul Humbahas Regency, Air Batu Asahan Regency, North Tapanuli, South Tapanuli, Balige and Padang Sidempuan City.

"We provide 15 motorbikes and 12 pocket petrol stations in North Sumatra. Freddy reminded the public to be wise in using energy, in this case, fuel and LPG. "Buy enough and as needed, do not hoard or resell, especially for subsidized fuel, because that is a criminal act," concluded Freddy.
