Balikpapan, 22 December 2021 – As Christmas and New Year's Eve 2022 (Nataru) approaches, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan is making anticipatory efforts toward increasing fuel & LPG consumption in Kalimantan. One of them is by monitoring the distribution of fuel through the Nataru Task Force Team.

"In overseeing the smooth distribution of fuel & LPG, Pertamina has formed a Task Force (Satgas) starting from November 29, 2021, to January 10, 2022, at Regional offices and all locations of fuel and LPG supply points spread across the Kalimantan region," said Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Kalimantan Region, Freddy Anwar.

Freddy explained that on Christmas and New Year, the demand for fuel is predicted to increase from D-3 for gasoline and H-2 for gasoil. With the spike in fuel consumption in Nataru 2021, Pertamina did the following things.

  1. Increase in gasoline stock:
    1. For Pertalite, as much as 5.4 percent of normal monthly consumption or around 5,440 KL/day to 5,733 KL/day in the Kalimantan region. For East Kalimantan, Pertalite stock increased by 7.7 percent from normal monthly consumption or around 1,585 KL/day to 1,707 KL/day.

    1. For diesel, it is 1.4 percent of normal monthly consumption or around 2,532 KL/day to 2,568 KL/day in the Kalimantan region. For East Kalimantan, the estimated consumption still tends to be normal or around 605 KL/day.
    2. For Dexlite, it is 6.5 percent of normal monthly consumption or around 944 KL/day to 1,005 KL/day in the Kalimantan region. For East Kalimantan, the increase in Dexlite stock is 26 percent from normal monthly consumption or around 228 KL/day to 286 KL/day.

For East Kalimantan, the estimated consumption of Pertamina Dex tends to decrease by 8 percent from normal consumption or around 11.8 KL/day to 10.9 KL/day.

Moreover, Pertamina is also alerting gas stations in the congested lanes of vehicles and tourism as many as 66 petrol stations spread across Kalimantan; East Kalimantan 14 petrol stations, West Kalimantan 26 petrol stations, Central Kalimantan 10 petrol stations, and South Kalimantan 16 petrol stations. All these standby petrol stations will operate for 24 hours and stock build-up has been carried out since H-7.

Preparation for Fulfilling LPG Needs

The increase in household LPG demand in Naru 2021 has been anticipated by increasing the stock by 5.8 percent from the normal monthly average or around 1,378 Metric Tons from the normal monthly consumption of 1,302 Metric Tons for the Kalimantan region.

The addition of 3 kg LPG distribution has been carried out since the 2nd week of December with the addition of facultative for the Kalimantan region of 1,769 Metric Tons (589,800 Tubes). This distribution has been distributed to 282 agents spread throughout Kalimantan. For the East Kalimantan region, the addition of the facultative amounted to 414 Metric Tons (137,960 Tubes).

Along with the additional distribution, Pertamina has also prepared agents and standby bases to fulfill the community's need for LPG. A total of 309 LPG agents and 951 outlets/bases are alerted throughout Kalimantan.

Support from Government Agencies and Apparatuses is needed to facilitate the distribution of fuel. Pertamina coordinates with the police regarding security measures for the fuel distribution implementation, especially at points that can cause congestion. Not only with the police, but coordination is also carried out by DLLJAR and the Geological Agency to anticipate obstacles in areas prone to traffic jams and landslides, road repairs, areas for exit/entry to the Fuel Terminal location, as well as the Tax Payment bank to facilitate financial processes, especially during holidays.

In ensuring the smooth distribution and service of Pertamina for fuel, LPG, and avtur, active participation from the community is expected. If you find any distribution problems and obstacles that occur in the field, you can submit them to Pertamina's contact number 135 or via email to pcc@pertamina.com and telephone to the contact center of Task Force MOR VI (0542) 7524567/4313.**
