Grand Finale of Pertamina Goes to Campus 2024 to be Held at Universitas Mulawarman

Jakarta, November 12, 2024 – After successfully hosting roadshows at various universities across Indonesia and even in Singapore, the Pertamina Goes to Campus (PGTC) 2024 event will reach its grand finale at Universitas Mulawarman, Samarinda, on November 14, 2024. PGTC serves as an educational platform on energy, inviting students to contribute to building a sustainable energy future.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, the VP of Corporate Communications of PT Pertamina (Persero), stated that PGTC 2024 has been held at 17 universities, including a session with the Indonesian Students' Association in Singapore. Since its first event on May 6 at Institut Teknologi Bandung, more than 30,000 students have participated in the activities.

“We hope that through PGTC, Pertamina can actively enhance students' understanding of renewable energy and energy sustainability. This event also aims to foster closer collaboration with academics to achieve sustainable development goals together,” said Fadjar.

He added that PGTC is one of Pertamina’s strategies to address the energy trilemma with support from academia. With the theme "Energizing the Future Together," the synergy between Pertamina as a business entity and academics is expected to generate fresh ideas and innovations in clean energy, thereby improving national energy resilience, affordability, and environmental sustainability.

One of the event's highlights is an essay competition, which has attracted more than 1,000 student submissions. At the grand finale at Universitas Mulawarman, Pertamina will announce the best essay and present it publicly. Additionally, six Pertamina sub-holdings will be present to provide the latest updates on the energy industry.

“As the grand finale, we will bring in speakers from academia, industry practitioners, and policymakers in the energy sector to engage in direct discussions with students. We welcome students from Universitas Mulawarman and other campuses around Samarinda to join this event,” Fadjar added.
