Jakarta, December 29, 2020 - PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially implemented digitalization at 5,518 petrol stations throughout Indonesia. The implementation of digitalization at the petrol stations was inaugurated by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of the Republic of Indonesia, Arifin Tasrif, virtually in Jakarta on Tuesday (29/12).
During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister of ESDM, Arifin Tasrif, expressed his appreciation for Pertamina's performance in completing the SPBU Digital Transformation Program. According to him, this program is one of the answers and guarantees for Pertamina's better services and adapting to today's modern society's patterns.
"The digitalization of gas stations is a perfect synergy between Pertamina and Telkom. It is a sign of the importance of synergy, especially in the digital era. Pertamina must implement digital development, one of which is by digitilizing it so that the distribution of fuel is more effective and ensuring subsidies are received by the right target," said Arifin.
On the same occasion, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, said digitilizing petrol stations is Pertamina's commitment to improving services to the community to be safer and more comfortable. Also, digitalization aims to strengthen Pertamina in carrying out the Government's assignment to distribute fuel to all corners of the country.
"With the completion of the digitalization transformation program at Pertamina petrol stations, one of Pertamina's mandates contained in the BUMN Law and the Energy Law, namely providing services to the public and ensuring that energy supply will be further improved. Of all the assets owned by Pertamina, 5,518 gas stations have been digitalized and integrated, so that today we can monitor all transactions and stock levels in real-time," said Nicke.
According to Nicke, in the digital era, the quality of data and information is the new oil, a resource that can improve company performance, including Pertamina. Digital Transformation SPBU provides several advantages that ensure the quality of data and information to support supply reliability and improve services for the community.
"This program is a new chapter for Pertamina in welcoming future business transformation. We will also continue digitalizing to refineries, ships, and upstream. Thus the entire digitalization program will cover all activities from upstream to downstream. We start from the downstream because community service is the most important thing for Pertamina," added Nicke.
Nicke added that the digitalization of petrol stations offers a solution to changing public transactions in the digital era. Through the MyPertamina application, all transactions can be done digitally, and the public can also enjoy the loyalty program offered. Pertamina works closely with Himbara, national banking, and LinkAja so that the public can enjoy easier payments.
In this inauguration, Nicke expressed her gratitude and highest appreciation to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Ministry of Finance. Along with the Commission VII DPR RI, Downstream Regulatory Body (BPH) Oil and Gas, other Government Agencies and Apparatus, Telkom as a strategic partner for program implementation, and all parties contributing to realizing this Digital Transformation.
