Jakarta, April 23, 2021 – In order to nationally recover the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, PT Pertamina (Persero) assisted 22 thousand women MSEs entrepreneurs to develop their business and achieve the best performance.
According to 2020 data, MSEs fostered partner that Pertamina has been assisted since 1993 is 65 thousand and 33,8 percent of the owners are women entrepreneurs.
“These women who are fostered partners of Pertamina, have supported their family’s economy and have helped to move of national economy which will play a role in recovering the economy,” said Agus, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina.
Agus added that from the total number, 4.126 of them joined Pertamina’s Rumah BUMN (RB) which are spread over 30 points throughout Indonesia. This huge amount could not be squandered. Through several MSE upgrade programs, Pertamina provides training, mentoring, and business certification. In 2020, there are 672 fostered women who have successfully developed its market both domestically and internationally. “This achievement is inseparable from their commitment to environment contribution. It is in the form of providing employment for housewives and women of powerless groups,” said Agus.
This is in line with the implementation of the 8th Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which is to provide decent work and support economic growth. It is also in line with Environment, Social, & Governance (ESG) in social sector. Pertamina believes that it can consistently generate economic benefits for people according to environmental and social responsibilities. “Pertamina highly appreciates every effort done by these heroines,” he said.**
