Ready to Fulfill Community Energy Needs During the New Year, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Appreciates Pertamina's Services

Jakarta, December 30, 2020 - Ensuring the readiness of energy services during the New Year holidays, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of the Republic of Indonesia, Arifin Tasrif, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, and President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sub Holding Commercial & Trading of PT Pertamina (Persero), Mas'ud Khamid, conducted a direct observation at Tanjung Gerem's Fuel Terminal (FT), Wednesday (30/12).

In the review, Nicke Widyawati stated that Pertamina had calculated the estimated increase in energy consumption and prepared anticipations to meet the community's needs and services during this new year holiday.

"We estimate that there will be an increase, based on trends in the previous holiday period, normal daily consumption, and the pandemic conditions that we are currently facing together," said Nicke.

To ensure that these needs are appropriately met, Pertamina has prepared several additional facilities on congestion-prone routes and routes to tourist areas. These facilities include 919 SPBU Siaga, 62 SPBU Toll Siaga, 213 Motorist units or Pertamina Delivery Service (PDS) services, 160 units of Standby Tank Cars, three units of mobile dispensers, 32 units of Pertashop, cash and non-cash payment services at all gas stations, 4,240 Standby LPG Agents, and 66,951 Standby LPG Agents.

"So, apart from regular facilities, these additional facilities are ready to serve the needs of the community while enjoying their vacation. Pertamina also ensures that all the facilities and services we provide are following applicable health protocols, even at some points we distributed masks as an effort to support one of the disciplines of 3M's movement in society," said Nicke.

To fulfill these regular and additional facilities, Pertamina has also alerted all Fuel and LPG Terminals, including the Tanjung Gerem FT, one of the essential supply points for the Merak region, the Anyer tourist area, and Banten as a whole. Moreover, the West Java region is one of the largest concentrations for tourist destinations and areas prone to congestion.

Observing this commitment and efforts, Minister of ESDM, Arifin Tasrif, expressed his appreciation to Pertamina for fulfilling its duties and mandates to ensure energy availability during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

"The energy security stock has been prepared for 27 days, which the normal is 20 days. We appreciate the efforts that Pertamina has made to support fuel needs at Christmas and New Year," said Arifin.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources also appreciated Pertamina for completing gas stations' digitalization at 5,518 gas stations. He also supports Pertamina's plan to continue the digitalization program from gas stations to storage tanks. Arifin hopes that if the digitalization program can complete it sooner, it will be better to increase efficiency.

"The modernization of the system at Pertamina does not only start with the retail sector but also to other sectors so that the efficiency can be increased and can support our future competitiveness," added Arifin.

According to Arifin, Pertamina's efforts are following what the community expects. It must be maintained and developed so that whatever Pertamina gives, the benefits will truly be felt by the community.

"To all Pertamina staff and workers, especially those in remote areas, we wish you good luck and pay attention to health protocols, because with good health conditions we can work well. Happy New Year, hopefully, it will always be protected by God the Almighty," said Arifin.

This review was closed by giving gifts to the tank car crew to appreciate their duties and provide corporate social responsibility (CSR) assistance to two schools around FT Tanjung Gerem.
