TEI 2023 Officially Ends, Pertamina's MSMEs Achieve Transactions Worth Up to IDR 15 Billion

Jakarta, October 24, 2023 - The 38th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) for 2023, held from October 18 to 22, 2023, at ICE-BSD, Tangerang, has officially ended. 30 Pertamina’s MSMEs have successfully recorded transactions worth up to IDR 15 billion, along with several commitment transactions to be pursued by the MSMEs after the exhibition.

"Yesterday, I just completed the export permit, Letter of Intent (LOI), and shipping documents," said Erna Sari of Ayam Penyet Bandung MSME after successfully securing a buyer from Dubai.

The TEI event has made history for Erna Sari, as she received an order for 400 cartons, equivalent to 16,000 bottles of chili sauce, from a foreign buyer for the first time. "The negotiations were quite challenging, from morning till evening. Fortunately, I was assisted by Pertamina's team. Therefore, pricing calculations and language barriers were not an issue," she stated.

Ayam Penyet Bandung MSME also received a visit from a Malaysian entrepreneur and agreed to open a branch in the neighboring country.

Fandri Christanto of Bintang Anugrah Krupuk Cassava MSME from Mojokerto admitted his surprise when many buyers visited his booth. "I was breaking into a cold sweat as I received an order for cassava chips up to 20 feet from a buyer from Tunisia," he exclaimed joyfully.

Fandri mentioned that this was his first time participating in a large event like TEI. "I was astonished to see a constant stream of buyers visiting. We can introduce our products to foreign buyers without needing to go abroad. Thanks to Pertamina," he expressed his gratitude.

VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, revealed that the transaction value for Pertamina's MSMEs at TEI 2023 is expected to increase as some commitment transactions are still in progress. The online exhibition will continue until December 18, 2023.

"These results demonstrate that Pertamina's MSME products are ready to enter the export market," said Fadjar.

TEI 2023 served as a platform for MSMEs to market their high-quality products, particularly in the export market. The offline event at ICE-BSD gained more than 29,000 visitors, with 3,162 foreign buyers from 114 countries. Meanwhile, the number of exhibition participants reached 1,232 businesses, indicating that TEI is currently the largest exhibition of its kind.
