Tank Construction in 12 Fuel Terminal Locations Finished, Pertamina Strengthens Energy Infrastructure in Eastern Indonesia

Jakarta, February 16, 2021 - PT Pertamina (Persero) has finished tank construction in 12 fuel (BBM) terminal) locations spread across Eastern Indonesia areas to strengthen fuel infrastructure with an additional capacity of 65.000 KL.

The construction of fuel tanks are located in Badas (West Nusa Tenggara), Pare-Pare (South Sulawesi), Ternate (North Maluku), Masohi (Maluku), Bula (Maluku), Dobo (Maluku), Labuha (Maluku), Saumlaki (Maluku), Namlea (Maluku), Wayame (Maluku), Merauke (Papua), and Nabire (Papua). As of today, there are still 2 (two) projects that are on process of finishing in Waingapu and Maumere (East Nusa Tenggara).

Aside of fuel tanks, Pertamina also plans to build 4 (four) LPG infrastructure in Indonesia. It includes LPG Terminal and Jetty in Tenau Kupang NTT, Bima NTB, Wayame Maluku, and Jayapura Papua.

"For infrastructure in Eastern Indonesia, both LPG and fuel can increase supply and also the reliability of the national energy infrastructure. All will be finished this year. We will speed up for fuel because this is also very important for Eastern Indonesia," said President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, at the Commission VII DPR RI Hearing Meeting (RDP) in Jakarta Monday (8/2).

Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Agus Suprijanto, explained that to realize one of President Joko Widodo's Nawacita Program's priorities. Namely developing Indonesia from the outskirts by strengthening regions and villages within a unitary state framework, since 2019, Pertamina has focused on building fuel infrastructure and LPG in Eastern Indonesia.

According to him, the construction of fuel and LPG infrastructure to provide national energy is contained in Pertamina's 2021 Work Plan and Corporate Budget (RKAP).

"Pertamina will ensure that infrastructure development that is still on progress can be completed according to the set time schedule," he said. **
