A Week Before Eid al-Fitr 2022, Pertamina Ensures Fuel and LPG Resilience and Distribution during the Homecoming Period is Sufficient

Jakarta, April 26, 2022 - PT Pertamina (Persero) ensures its readiness ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2022. Pertamina's 2022 Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force (RAFI) is ready to secure fuel and LPG supply and distribution during this year's Lebaran homecoming.

President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, said that Pertamina's RAFI Task Force had been formed and was effective from April 11 to May 10, 2022. Regarding the homecoming flow this year, Nicke said it was expected to experience a surge, especially after two years of the pandemic, people were unable to return to their hometowns.

"Although there will be a surge of the homecomers, all Pertamina workers from upstream, refineries, shipping, marketing to gas work together to ensure the community's energy needs are properly fulfilled. All data can be monitored in real-time through the Integrated Enterprise Data and Center Command (IEDCC), an information center for energy distribution from upstream, refineries, shipping, fuel terminals to petrol stations for 24 hours," explained Nicke.

Based on the government's prediction, around 85.5 million homecomers and 33 million cars will move throughout Indonesia during the Lebaran 2022 homecoming. For the fuel and LPG stock and distribution, Nicke said that, in general, it is currently in a sufficient condition and running smoothly. Pertamina also prepared additional stock following the projected average consumption for each product calculation.

Data from the Pertamina RAFI Task Force 2022 shows that Gasoline products during Ramadan and Eid in 2022 are estimated to increase 11% from the RAFI Task Force in 2021, from 90 thousand KL per day to 100 thousand KL per day. The Gasoil products increased by 24 percent to 44 thousand KL per day, compared to last year's task force of 36 thousand KL per day.

Meanwhile, the increase in fuel consumption is expected to peak on D-1, D+1 (homecoming), and during the D+5 return flow. Diesel products will  decrease due to restrictions on large trucks on D-4 to D-1 (during homecoming) and during D+5 to D+7 during return flow.

The total national stock for Solar is 1.8 million KL, Pertalite fuel is 1.3 million KL, Pertamax is 720 thousand KL, Dexlite is around 4,600 KL, Pertamina Dex is 77 thousand KL, and Pertamina Turbo is 41 thousand KL.

Whereas for LPG products, both PSO and Non-PSO are estimated to increase by 3% from the 2021 task force, from 25 thousand metric tons per day to 27 thousand metric tons per day. Specifically for PSO LPG, Pertamina's 2022 RAFI Task Force estimates a 6% increase from 2021.

As for Avtur, consumption is estimated to increase by 57% compared to 2021, from 5,434 KL per day to 8,527 KL per day. "This is due to the mobilization of homecoming by plane this year, considering that compared to last year. This year, the government has allowed homecoming, and there is an easing of travel rules that encourage mobilization," explained Nicke.

In facing this year's Eid al-Fitr homecoming, Pertamina also provides fuel services during the RAFI Task Force period, such as standby petrol stations in potential route areas (toll lanes, tourist routes, logistics routes) on standby 24 hours for 1,370 petrol stations. LPG agents and outlets are on standby and alerted for up to 24 hours, specifically in areas with high demand during Ramadan and Eid of 48 thousand units.

Pertamina Standby Kiosks have been prepared in with no petrol stations. There are 85 Pertamax and Dex series units spread across 47 locations. Pertamina also prepared 339 units of motorist services, such as gasoline delivery services (Pertamax/Dex series) for customers in congested areas. 154 tank trucks also have been alerted as fuel supply bags/reserves.

"Not only that, but we have also prepared health facilities collaborating with Pertamedika to provide health checks, including ambulances. We do everything to improve services so that people are safe and comfortable on their homecoming trips," said Nicke.**
