Fuel tanker when passing through an alternative route to penetrate North Luwu and East Luwu.

After Palopo Bridge Cracked, Central and Southeast Sulawesi Supplied 320 Kilo Liters of Fuel for Lutim and Lutra

Palopo, November 11, 2021 - Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi ensures that fuel distribution will continue from all possible routes after the closure of the Trans Sulawesi route. It is due to the bridge crack at Telluwanua Palopo, which is the main link between Palopo City to North Luwu and East Luwu on October 30, 2021, night.

After the incident, transportation was taken through several alternative routes that were not fully paved. After it rained for several days, many cars were stuck on these alternative routes, including Tank Trucks from the Palopo Fuel Terminal, the main fuel Terminal supplying fuel to North Luwu and East Luwu.

Anticipation by Pertamina has been carried out since November 3 through alternative deliveries. It includes Poso fuel terminal, Kolonedale fuel terminal, Kolaka fuel terminal, and Palopo fuel Terminal. The fuel supply reaches 160 - 320 kiloliters per day to normalize fuel supply at eight petrol stations in North Luwu and eight gas stations in East Luwu Regency.

Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, Laode Syarifuddin Mursali, said Pertamina had taken an alternative supply pattern to ensure that Pertalite and Biosolar fuel is available in North Luwu and East Luwu. "The public is advised not to panic and not to make excessive purchases. Together with the regional government and the police, we are trying to break down the path so that the fuel supply can return to normal and provide alternative supplies," he said.

Furthermore, Laode said that to help speed up the normalization of supply, his party has also sent a letter to the Governor. Pertamina requested an acceleration of repairs to the Telluwanua Bridge. Pertamina also asked the South Sulawesi Police Chief for support for security at petrol stations and escorting the delivery of tanker trucks, both fuel and LPG. "We have coordinated with all relevant parties so that fuel and LPG can reach the community quickly and safely," he added.

Laode also appealed to the public to report to the nearest police and contact Pertamina 135 call center if they found excessive purchases. Therefore, it can be dealt with quickly and prevent people from taking advantage of this situation.**
