Jakarta, December 9, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero) ensures that national energy supplies are sufficient for the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru) celebrations.
Simon Aloysius Mantiri, President Director of Pertamina, announced that in preparation for Nataru, Pertamina has established the Nataru Task Force, which will operate from December 16, 2024, to January 9, 2025.
Simon emphasized that all units within the Pertamina Group, including Sub-holdings and subsidiary services, are committed to actively participating in Nataru preparations and maintaining national energy resilience to fulfill public needs.
"Pertamina has anticipated and projected increased energy demand, including ensuring adequate stock reserves of fuel, LPG, and aviation fuel (Avtur). All infrastructure is on standby," Simon stated during a press conference at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) in Jakarta on December 9, 2024.
According to Simon, fuel demand during the Task Force period is expected to increase by approximately 5% compared to the average demand, while diesel consumption is predicted to decrease by around 3.3% due to operational restrictions on freight vehicles or trucks. Meanwhile, household LPG consumption during the Task Force period is anticipated to rise by about 2.7% compared to the average demand.
Simon added that Pertamina has prepared 7,786 petrol stations, 6,802 Pertashops, 414 marine petrol stations (SPBUN), 55 Bunker Fuel Station (SPBB), 6,478 LPG agents, 754 LPG filling stations (SPBE), and 156 kerosene agents to ensure smooth and secure distribution.
During the Task Force period, Pertamina will also enhance services along key routes, including toll roads, tourist routes, and major highways. Facilities prepared include standby petrol stations, LPG agents, standby kerosene agents, Pertamina kiosks, motorist services, standby tankers, and MyPertamina lounges.
"Pertamina has also anticipated potential disasters by preparing Emergency Response Teams in each region," Simon explained.
Pertamina is optimizing its digital supply chain management through its command center, the Pertamina Digital Hub. "This system monitors fuel and LPG distribution across the Pertamina Group, which was integrated during the Nataru period. It ensures that energy needs are accessible to the public, with fuel and LPG quality and quantity meeting applicable standards," Simon asserted.
Additionally, Simon stated that Pertamina Group's support for Nataru 2024 includes other strategic measures. In the aviation sector, Pertamina has reduced Avtur prices at 19 airports as mandated by the government.
"Pertamina has contributed by lowering Avtur prices at 19 priority airports. Pelita Air will also provide 200,952 available seats, an increase of 44%, to serve 16 domestic flight routes, supporting the Nataru needs," Simon concluded.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
