Palembang, April 17, 2023 - Vice President Commissioner of Pertamina, Pahala Mansury, emphasizes that refineries’ reliability is the key to maintaining the supply chain of fuel availability. According to him, Pertamina continues to prioritize the importance of refinery reliability and safety for workers, which are crucial foundations for ensuring production continuity and a reliable and stable energy supply.
It was revealed during a field inspection at the Plaju Refinery, accompanied by Director of Human Resources of Pertamina, Erry Sugiharto, during a visit to the Refinery Unit III Plaju of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional in Palembang on Monday (17/04/2023).
Pahala asserts that the Plaju Refinery’s reliability, supported by the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) aspects implementation from management to operational levels, is one of the main pillars of Pertamina's efforts to become a world-class energy company.
"We will continue to ensure that the safety culture is fully implemented, upholding safe, efficient, and sustainable operations principles to ensure that the refineries operate optimally and continue to serve the community’s energy needs," he added.
Taufik Aditiyawarman, the President Director of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (PT KPI), who accompanied the field inspection activities, added that PT KPI would continue to prioritize HSSE aspects, especially safety, in all its operational activities.
"Safety is our top priority in decision-making and operational planning, including at the Pertamina Plaju Refinery. We continuously improve understanding and awareness of safety among all employees through training, education, and strict supervision," said Taufik.
Taufik also emphasized that the Pertamina Plaju Refinery remains safe for workers, especially ahead of the Eid al-Fitr moment, which requires higher production.
"We ensure that our oil refinery facilities remain in a safe condition, and we conduct routine maintenance and rigorous inspections to ensure that refinery equipment and infrastructure operate following the established safety standards," said Taufik.**
