Amid the Covid-19 Pandemic, Pertamina's Contribution Reaches More than IDR 1,5 Trillion  

Jakarta, November 22, 2020 – The Covid-19 Pandemic still hits the world, and Indonesia, PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to increase its contribution to now reaching more than IDR 1,5 Trillion to help the Government handle the impact of the pandemic in the health, social, and economic sectors.

Pertamina's contribution is quite significant in the health sectors. Through its subsidiary, PT Pertamina Bina Medika, Pertamina built a modular hospital at the Simprug Soccer Field and provided 7 (seven) Pertamina Hospital to become Reference Hospitals that are spread throughout the operation area. 

To help the Government suppress the spread of the virus, Pertamina Group also hands out aid for the community in the forms of Personal Protective Equipment, Masks, Gloves, Face Shield, Disinfectant Chamber, Ventilator, Thermo Gun, Rapid Test, Portable Sinks, and Food Packages.

Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Heppy Wulansari, explained that 2020 is the most challenging year for Pertamina in national energy management. However, ahead of its 63 years of age, the company will continue to maintain the national oil and gas ecosystem and continue to contribute to handling Covid 19.

"For Pertamina, this year has become a momentum to rise. All efforts and contributions that Pertamina has done throughout the Covid-19 pandemic show that we will always be present to give benefits and good spirits for the community at any given circumstances," said Heppy.

According to her, since Covid-19 hits in March 2020, Pertamina continued to recover to produce good performance by the end of 2020. After that, the company continues to play a strategic role in helping sustain the national energy ecosystem.

"With the start of the increase in world oil prices in the middle of the year and the gradual increase in fuel sales, Pertamina hopes to achieve a positive performance and will continue to contribute in driving the national economic growth," added Heppy.

In the Covid 19 pandemic era, Pertamina added that the upstream sector would continue to operate so that the business of upstream partners and drilling companies would continue to run and not have layoffs.

In the processing sector, said Heppy, 6 (six) Pertamina refineries also continue to produce fuel and continue the construction of the Balikpapan RDMP and GRR Tuban. It is to ensure O&M and EPC Contractor company partners can provide opportunities for 32.17 thousand direct workers and 519 thousand non-direct workers. 

Meanwhile, in the downstream sector, she continued, Pertamina still has more than 7,000 gas stations and 10 thousand tank trucks and their crews working to distribute fuel to every part of the country. Also, as many as 40 thousand LPG retail business partners (Agents / Sub Agents) and around 180 thousand LPG base outlets (PSO and Non-PSO also provide LPG needs for the community.

All Pertamina's fuel and LPG distribution modes, including the 280 vessels, also continue to sail to deliver energy. It shows the company's high commitment to encourage economic growth while still providing energy throughout the national territory.

"With the operation of the entire business ecosystem, Pertamina can retain all employees and business partners so that it can reduce the number of layoffs that are rife in the industrial sector," said Heppy.**
