Jakarta, October 24, 2024 – At the Pertamina Small Medium Enterprise Expo (SMEXPO) 2024, PT Pertamina (Persero) encouraged its fostered Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to optimize digital marketing to reach a broader market. Through digital marketing, MSMEs can expand their market share and increase sales.
Pertamina SMEXPO is a hybrid exhibition held by Pertamina to help foster MSMEs expand their market directly to the public and the digital marketplace application SMEXPO. Currently being held at Mall Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta, Pertamina has brought 43 MSMEs from across Indonesia to showcase hundreds of high-quality local products, ranging from handicrafts to processed foods.
The Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that SMEXPO is not only a platform to showcase MSME products but also a space for education and discussion for MSME entrepreneurs.
“SMEXPO 2024 will run for six days. In addition to the exhibition, Pertamina is also holding various talk shows featuring business players from different fields, allowing them to share their experiences,” he explained.
One of the key discussions was on digital marketing, presented by Yoga Pratama, Junior Assistant of CSR & SMEPP Management of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional.
Yoga highlighted that digital marketing is an essential skill for MSME entrepreneurs. One innovation MSMEs can utilize to market their products is through artificial intelligence (AI).
“Indonesian consumers are now accustomed to purchasing products digitally, so Pertamina's fostered partners need to strengthen their digital marketing skills,” said Yoga during the SMEXPO talk show on Wednesday (10/23/2024).
He noted that digital product marketing continues to evolve. One innovation MSMEs can use is AI technology.
He added that AI tools, like ChatGPT, can help MSMEs describe the products they want to sell. AI offers numerous possibilities, as the technology provides the necessary tools for this purpose.
“For example, using ChatGPT. All it takes is typing to create a caption for a spicy chips product, and the caption will be instantly organized by AI,” he explained.
Yoga also mentioned certain times that MSME entrepreneurs can use as a reference for promoting their products, such as 7:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 6:00 PM (Western Indonesian Time). However, he emphasized that these times may vary dynamically, so MSMEs should analyze data periodically to determine strategic times with the highest potential.
Lastly, Yoga advised MSME entrepreneurs to pay attention to hashtags when promoting their products on social media, as hashtags can extend their reach to various audiences.
“For example, using hashtags can help MSME products appear on social media feeds under relevant hashtags,” he stressed.
