Prabumulih, September 2, 2021 – Pertamina through the Upstream Subholding Sumatra Region Zone 4 will complete the drilling of three new development wells in South Sumatra on early September 2021. The three wells are PMN-A in Prabumenang Village, Muara Enim Regency, KRG-PB in Rambang Senuling Village, Prabumulih City, and LBK -INF3 in Lembak Village, Muara Enim Regency.
The PMN-A well drilling is targeted to be completed within 35 days, with a depth of 1,800 meters. This well is drilled using rig #29.3/D1500-E, rated at 1,500 HP (horsepower). This well is estimated to have an oil potential of 60 barrels per day (Barrel of Oil Per Day/BOPD) and gas of 2 million standard cubic feet per day (Million Standard Cubic Feet Per Day/MMscfd). The KRG-PB well will be drilled for 35 days, with a depth of 1,600 meters. This well is drilled using rig #32.2/N80UE-E with a capacity of 1,000 HP. The KRG-PB well is predicted to increase oil production by 200 BOPD. Meanwhile, the LBK-INF3 well will be drilled with a duration of 35 days and a depth of 1,750 meters. This well is drilled using rig #42.3/N1500-E with a capacity of 1,500 HP. The production potential contributed from the LBK-INF3 well is 300 BOPD.
By the end of August 2021, the additional drilling of these three development wells Zone 4 has successfully drilled 16 wells out of a target of 37 wells for 2021. The other thirteen wells that have been completed are BNG-A1 (Adera Field, PALI), AJDJ-113X, GRH-29X, GRH-30X, GRH-31X, GRH-114X (Ogan Komering and Raja Tempirai Field, Ogan Komering Ulu), BN-20.2 (Ramba Field, Banyuasin) SPA-DZ14, SPA-DZ5, SPA-DZ4, SPA-DZ7, MSI-TAF2 (Pendopo Field, Musi Rawas), and BEL-P1 (Limau Field, Muara Enim). From the 16 wells, an additional 657 BOPD of oil and 2.51 MMscfd of gas were produced. Overall production from Zone 4, based on data on August 26, 2021, is 24,621 BOPD for oil and 539.73 MMscfd gas.
The General Manager of Zone 4, Akhmad Miftah, said that massive drilling was needed to increase production and meet the targets set by the Government. “In 2020, we drilled 16 development wells, 28 workovers, and 255 intervention well. The target for 2021 is 37 development wells, a significant increase compared to last year, 26 workovers, and 285 wells intervention. We will try our best and are optimistic that we can achieve it,” said Miftah.
Head of Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Bussiness (SKK Migas) Representative for Southern Sumatra Region (Sumbagsel), Anggono Mahendawan, said that SKK Migas supports drilling activities carried out by Pertamina Upstream Subholding Sumatra Region Zone 4. “This drilling program shows Pertamina’s determination to continue maintaining production levels in Sumbagsel. This effort is also part of the efforts of SKK Migas and Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) in realizing the achievement of the oil production target of 1 million BOPD and 12 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day (BSCFD) by 2030, which will be realized with the support from all stakeholders in the region,” said Anggono.
“This year, SKK Migas has increased the target for drilling development wells to 616 wells nationally. This target is a significant increase compared to the 2020 realization of 252 wells. Sumatra is one of the backbones of national oil and gas production in 2021, where 5 provinces in Southern Sumatra contribute around 10% of the national oil production target and around 30% of the national gas production target,” added Anggono.
Pertamina Upstream Subholding Sumatra Region Zone 4 manages oil and gas production operations in South Sumatra. Production is produced from seven self-operated fields, namely Prabumulih, Limau, Pendopo, Adera, Ramba, Ogan Komering, and Raja Tempirai. In addition, there are also two non-operator work areas, namely Corridor and Suban Unitization, as well as nine Joint Operations (KSO) and one Technical Assistant Contract (TAC).
