BPH MIGAS Committee Review PGN's Readiness in the Central Java-East Java Area for Ramadan - Eid 2022

Surabaya, May 1, 2022 – To ensure the readiness of the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr Task Force (RAFI 2022 Task Force) in maintaining natural gas distribution services, the BPH Migas Committee, Wahyudi Anas and Abdul Halim, reviewed the Sales Operation Regional III area of PT PGN Tbk East Java Region, Central Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara (SOR III).

Several regencies/cities that are subject to review in PGN's SOR III area include Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, Semarang, Bojonegoro, Mojokerto, Gresik, Blora, Probolinggo, Magelang and its surroundings.

Currently, PGN's natural gas distribution in the SOR III area is carried out to serve 151,027 customer needs with 126 BBTUD volumes. Meanwhile, most of PGN's customers are household or around 150,450 customers; 576 are Commercial and Industrial segments, and 1 SPBG.

The BPH Migas Committee, Wahyudi Anas, revealed that BPH Migas reviewed directly to the area to ensure fuel and natural gas for households, small customers, and SPBGs supply in East Java.

“The visit is focused directly on sectors that are in direct contact with natural gas needs in the community. We look at the upstream side, gas needs during the Lebaran Holidays (RAFI 2022) can still be fulfilled, and several industries are taking Eid holidays so that the allocations for small customers, households, and BBG are guaranteed sufficient. There will be no reduction," said Wahyudi (28/04/2022).

Operations in East Java for the gas connection sector, small customers, and CNG are a priority. Those sectors are directly in contact with the community. The operating pressure on the required pipeline network is quite low. Thus, all these conditions will be guaranteed.

“We visited and made sure that the gas service at the Penjaringan Flat and the Kampung Kue UMKM business in Rungkut - Surabaya were well served. Even though East Java is currently experiencing supply disruptions or shortages from the upstream side, the gas household sector's gas security is still guaranteed," stated the Committee of BPH Migas, Abdul Halim.

At the same event, General Manager of SOR 3 PGN Edi Armawiria explained that the gas demand for industrial customers in the period around D-7 Eid tends to decline. However, PGN still maintains the stability and reliability of gas distribution so that all customers can still fulfill their gas needs.

During the Low Demand Lebaran Period, PGN continued to maintain reliability by optimizing the operations pattern in the distribution and transmission network as well as infrastructure strengthening efforts. One was the Tambak Lorok - Tambak Rejo jumper line pipe construction. It had a positive impact on the supply and market for East Java - Central Java can be integrated.

"We ensure that natural gas operations run safely during the Eid holiday and that customers can be well served," said Edi, (28/04/2022).

The RAFI 2022 task force is in charge of monitoring and controlling transmission and distribution network pressure, network and infrastructure patrols periodically.

“The RAFI Task Force team conducts collect reporting, which is regularly reported to Pertamina Holding twice a day to make it easier for Holding to get data. As well as to BPH Migas, MEMR, and other government stakeholders," explained Edi.

Overall, the 2022 RAFI Subholding Gas Task Force Command Post works 24 hours spread across 23 points in Sumatera, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Kalimantan, and Sorong.
