Building Village Independence, the Minister of Home Affairs Encourages Local Governments to Support 4.558 Pertashop Implementation

Jakarta, September 9, 2020 – The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Muhammad Tito Karnavian, encourages the local governments to support the acceleration of Pertamina Shop (Pertashop) implementation in rural areas to achieve village independence. The minister emphasizes that during the Coordination Meeting, which was held virtually between The Ministry of Home Affairs, Provincial Governments, Regency/City Governments, and PT Pertamina (Persero), at the Sasana Bhakti Praja (SBP) Building, Ministry of Home Affairs, on Wednesday (9/9/2020).

The Coordination Meeting was led by the Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Commissioner of Pertamina, Condro Kirono, and President Director of PT. Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati. It was attended by almost 500 state officials from local governments virtually.

Pertamina and the Ministry of Home Affairs target to build 4.558 units of Pertashop throughout Indonesia for 2020. The cooperation for the Pertashop Program is a joint business to increase the economic value and competitiveness of the community while making the services closer to meet the needs of fuel oil in the village.

"Pertashop has a big role in fulfilling President Jokowi's Nawacita in building villages through energy. Pertashop not only brings fuel and gas to be closer with the community in the village but also encourages the village's innovation through the partnership as well as increasing the local government's capacity," asserted the Minister of Home Affairs.

According to him, the collaboration between the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Directorate General of Village Government Development and Pertamina is strengthening and reorientating the village government development approach with a new paradigm. It is to answer the backwardness of village development that has an impact on society and is one of the important points in efforts to mainstream villages in National Development.

Additionally, added the Minister of Home Affairs, the local government should socialize to the community about the building and operations of Pertashop. Therefore, it can help develop the village's potential as well as not to use the Pertashop program for political needs.

The Minister of Home Affairs also added that Pertashop is hoped to develop Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in villages as well as to develop the village's potential, which will support Indonesia's dream of becoming developed.

Inline, Nicke Widyawati also asserted Pertamina's commitment to the existence of energy security, which prioritizes availability, accessibility, acceptability, affordability, and sustainability.

Nicke added that the Pertashop program, including its factory, which synergizes with several SOEs and national private company spread throughout Indonesia, also prioritize High Domestic Content Levels (TKDN). The Pertashop TKDN module includes, among others, the supply of dispenser materials that use domestic fabricated materials up to 71 percent.

Therefore, the Pertashop program can encourage the equipment manufacturing industry growth and absorb more workers. Consequently, it can promote domestic economic growth.

In its development, added Nicke, there are several criteria. It includes the criteria for Pertashop location, Pertashop partners, and the local government permits.

"With the synergy between Pertamina and the Ministry of Home Affairs, especially for the simplification of permits, as of September 2020, there 576 Pertashop outlets built," said Nicke.

Registration to become a partner for Pertashop can be done at http://kemitraan.pertamina.com,  which will be continued with field verification, administration, requirements for local government and land tenure, building permits in the form of designs approved by Pertamina, and the construction process. After that, there will be a cooperation contract with Pertamina for a period of 10 years. Therefore, Pertashop can operate sustainably.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero), Condro Kirono, asserted that Pertashop aims to serve fuel needs in all regions of Indonesia, get closer to end consumers and develop control of outlets to the rural level.

"With the support of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), including the Police, it is hoped that Pertashop operations with a target of 4,558 locations throughout Indonesia can run well," said Condro.**
