Building Wayame LPG Terminal, Pertamina Involves Hundreds of Local Companies

Jakarta, July 2, 2021 - To increase the reliability of energy supply in the Eastern Indonesia, PT Pertamina (Persero) is completing the construction of an LPG Terminal infrastructure in Wayame, Ambon Maluku Province, with a total capacity of 2,000 Metric Tons (MT). The infrastructure development involved 223 local companies, consisting of 208 material supply companies and 15 fabricated construction subcontractors.

Acting SVP Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said Pertamina is committed to building the national economy by paying attention to the local content level in every infrastructure development. It includes docks and LPG tanks in Wayame Ambon, which is predicted to have a 45.75% local content level of goods and services.

"This value is higher than the local content level standard for the Pertamina project in 2021, which is 30%," added Fajriyah.

Several local companies that contributed to the construction of the Wayane LPG terminal include PT Krakatau Steel, PT Wika Beton, PT Hanil Jaya Steel, PT Gajah Mas Tehnik, PT Gracia Sejahtera Perkasa, PT Global Trimandiri Perkasa, PT Alfa Valves Indonesia, PT Control System Arena Paranusa, PT Merkuri Abadi Globalindo, PT Jayakarta Global Pratama, PT Mitra Galperti, PT Lasindo Jayabermasa, PT Fastindo Wiratama and others.

The construction progress of the Wayame LPG Terminal in June has reached 95%. Construction began in April 2019 and is expected to be completed in July 2021.

"Pertamina is also building a dock with a capacity of 6,500 DWT at the Wayame LPG Terminal. The construction of the LPG Terminal, jetty, supporting facilities, and infrastructure requires an investment of IDR 330 billion," said Fajriyah.

In addition to the construction of the LPG Terminal in Wayame, Pertamina is also completing the construction of 3 (three) other LPG infrastructures in Eastern Indonesia, which include the LPG Terminal in Tenau Kupang (NTT), the LPG Terminal in Bima (NTB) and the LPG Terminal in Jayapura (Papua). The total capacity of the construction of these four infrastructures reaches 6,000 MT.

"The construction of this LPG Terminal is one of the National Strategic Projects and part of the government's assignment in the context of providing national energy as set out in Pertamina's 2021 Work Plan and Corporate Budget (RKAP). It is expected to increase the supply and the reliability of the national energy infrastructure," concluded Fajriyah.**
