Jakarta, May 23, 2024 – The BUMN School of Excellence, in collaboration with PT Pertamina (Persero) as the host, and Srikandi BUMN, held the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Masterclass Volume III at Grha Pertamina Jakarta on May 22.
With the "Women’s Leadership In The New World Of Work" theme, the event invited female leaders as speakers in the sharing sessions. The event was moderated by Sri Ainin Muktirizka, Director of Legal and HC of PT ASABRI, with speakers Emma Sri Martini, Director of Finance of PT Pertamina (Persero), and Ira Puspa Dewi, President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.
Erry Sugiharto, the Director of Human Resources of PT Pertamina (Persero), expressed that hosting this event reflects Pertamina's role as a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) in acting as a development agent and supporting the growth of top talents within SOEs. This initiative aims to develop future leaders to be capable of competing on a global scale.
“We are fully committed to enhancing the capacity and capability of our employees, including women, to ensure they are prepared to take on leadership roles. Various internal initiatives at Pertamina, driven by the Directorate of HR through synergy with the Pertiwi community and the development of leadership and human empowerment, are believed to support the company’s targets. In an ever-changing work environment, business demands not only emphasize company profit but also business sustainability,” he said.
Thus, the Human Resources role is crucial. It must be undertaken collaboratively to ensure that future HR leaders can bring positive changes to the company's business processes if selected as leaders.
“The Srikandi BUMN presence today can be beneficial in collaborative programs focusing on developing women’s leadership and empowerment within SOEs. Hopefully, this collaboration will foster harmony and progress for mutual growth,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Chairwoman of Srikandi BUMN, Tina T Kemala Intan, stated that Srikandi is partnering with BSE to mutually strengthen, support, and provide input to enhance women's competence and capability.
“Srikandi focuses on boosting women's confidence as they advance in their careers. Hopefully, this training will inspire them. May their aspirations soar high, and may their daily actions align with their goals. Being a leader is not just about working smart but also working hard. I hope all the women here can advance their careers and contribute to SOEs and the nation,” she concluded.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, revealed that currently, about 18% of Pertamina's workforce consists of women, with a significant portion in support functions, and nearly 20% in management positions. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting women’s careers.Pertamina will continue to increase women's participation in the workforce.
“Pertamina is committed to significantly enhancing the role of women in the national energy industry. We are setting an ambitious target of having 25% female leaders within the Pertamina Group. With this target, women are expected to increase their contributions to the energy sector. We will continue to work towards this goal,” he said.
