Cilacap, May 16, 2024 - A total of 97 prospective Hajj pilgrims from the Badan Dakwah Islam (BDI) community of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) RU IV Cilacap have been sent off on their journey to the holy land. The symbolic departure ceremony was carried out during the Tasyakur & Final Briefing for Prospective Hajj Pilgrims of BDI RU IV at the Patra Graha building on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
Sukondo Jati from BDI RU IV Cilacap reported that there are 97 prospective Hajj pilgrims from BDI RU IV, including 36 employees and their spouses, 61 non-employees and their spouses, and 73 pilgrims from the KBIHU Miftahul Janaah BDI RU IV. “The pilgrims come from various areas, including Maos, Kroya, Nusawungu, Cilacap city, and Cipari district, the furthest one,” he said.
According to the schedule, the departure of the prospective Hajj pilgrims from BDI RU IV was for Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 6:00 PM WIB from the Baiturrahmah Mosque complex in Donan. “The pilgrims will then head to the Wijayakusuma Pendopo to join the other pilgrims in one group,” Jati added.
Ahmad Thamrin, representing the prospective Hajj pilgrims in his farewell speech asked for forgiveness and prayed for the smooth and safe completion of all Hajj rituals and stages. “The prayers from all pilgrims will be a source of energy from the departure, during the rituals in the holy land, and the return home,” he added.
The General Manager of PT KPI RU IV Cilacap, Edy Januari Utama, through the Manager of Operation Performance Improvement (OPI), Agus Rahmat Jamal, reminded the pilgrims to maintain their physical and mental health to stay fit. “In addition to significant funds, Hajj requires prime physical condition. Let us straighten our intentions and only pray to Allah SWT for everything to go smoothly and easily,” he added.
Agus also asked the pilgrims to pray for the operational safety of the refinery in fulfilling its duty to provide energy for the nation. “The Cilacap Refinery, with the largest capacity reaching 348 thousand barrels per day, supplies 34 percent of the national energy and 60 percent of the energy in Java. Pray that our pride refinery always performs at its best,” he added.
Separately, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, added that through its refineries, Pertamina ensures the availability and supply of aviation fuel (avtur) to meet the needs of Hajj flights in 2024.
“Pertamina Refinery is ready to produce avtur to support the Hajj pilgrimage flights in 2024,” said Fadjar.
In the final brief, KH Arwani Amin from Nurul Ihsan Islamic Boarding School in Jeruklegi, Cilacap, delivered a sermon. He reminded the pilgrims of three important principles to uphold during the fifth pillar of Islam. “First, have complete trust in Allah, always think positively of Allah SWT in all circumstances, and firmly resolve to earn the rewards of Hajj,” he said.
It is known that this year, 1,315 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Cilacap Regency will depart, divided into five groups: 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24. The initial departure was for May 15 and 16, 2024.**
