Clarification: Fire at Cipali Rest Area Not Caused by Pertamina Pipeline

Jakarta, April 26, 2023 - In response to reports in the media regarding the emergence of fire and explosion at Rest Area KM 86 B on the Cikopo-Palimanan toll road caused by a Pertamina-owned pipeline, we would like to clarify that it is not true.

Pertamina, through its Gas sub-holding companies, Pertamina Gas Negara and Pertagas, as well as Pertamina EP, has confirmed that there are no facilities belonging to the Pertamina Group at the location.

"After checking in the field, we can confirm that the fire did not originate from a gas pipeline or any Pertamina-owned facility," said VP of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

Pertamina even helped in extinguishing the fire at the location with relevant officials. "We assisted in extinguishing the fire with relevant officials such as firefighters and other related personnel," said Fadjar.
