Collaborating with Bareskrim, Pertamina Keeps the Mandate for Energy Security

Jakarta, August 12, 2020 – PT Pertamina (Persero) once again collaborate with the legal apparatus to assist the procurement process for construction, development, and operation of the domestic refinery project handled by PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) by signing the Cooperation Agreement with the Indonesian Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri).

The signing was done by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, Ignatius Tallulembang and Head of Bareskrim Polri, Komjen Pol Drs Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Msi in Jakarta (12/8). It was witnessed by President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati.

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, explained that the signing of the Cooperation Agreement with Bareskrim Polri is Pertamina's form of maintaining the mandate to create energy independence.

"Of course, this massive assignment and noble intention cannot be achieved without good cooperation with all stakeholders, including the institution of the Indonesian National Police," said Nicke.

Nicke added that the policy and assignment given to Pertamina by the President is very important and strategic for Indonesia. Therefore, it is appropriate for the police to assist, oversee the process of how we develop new refineries and operate old refineries.

CEO of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, Ignatius Tallulembang explained, in the completion of projects and company operations, Pertamina is committed to implementing the principles of honesty, prudence, and transparency. For this reason, Pertamina involved the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police to carry out supervision and assistance in the procurement process for construction, development, and operation of oil and petrochemical refineries.

"This cooperation aims to improve further the coordination and synergy between Pertamina and the Indonesian National Police, which have been going well so far. With this synergy, the entire project work process can be carried out without worry and hesitation so that everything can be completed as targeted," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bareskrim Polri, Komjen Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo conveyed his commitment to overseeing so that all activities of Pertamina's big program can run well, efficiently, on time, and smoothly.

"Of course, the Government's policy which is required by Pertamina is an obligation for us Indonesian Police, especially Bareksrim Polri, to oversee the implementation of refinery construction in Indonesia. Thank you for the appreciation and trust in Bareskrim Polri to be able to oversee existing projects in Pertamina," he concluded. **
