Commitment to Energy Sustainability, Pertamina Introduces the Sustainability Microsite

Jakarta, August 22, 2024 - PT Pertamina (Persero) has launched a sustainability microsite to communicate the company's commitment to sustainability. This microsite is designed to be a comprehensive information hub about Pertamina's sustainability initiatives in achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or sooner.

This sustainability commitment involves the leadership and awareness of all employees as internal stakeholders of the company. President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, stated that as a global energy company, Pertamina's commitment to sustainability emphasizes the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects in its corporate strategy.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, explained that Pertamina ensures all stakeholders, including the public, government, investors, and business partners, can easily access information about Pertamina's efforts to maintain sustainability. "The sustainability page is now accessible to the public through the sustainability microsite at sustainability.pertamina.com, one of the features on Pertamina's main website," Fadjar explained.

With the development of digital technology, this microsite allows the public to gain comprehensive insights into Pertamina's significant steps towards a sustainable future, aligned with 10 Pertamina Sustainability Focus Areas. These include addressing climate change, reducing environmental footprints, protecting biodiversity, enhancing health and safety, preventing major accidents, respecting and empowering employees, focusing on innovation and research, fostering community engagement and impact, strengthening cybersecurity, and upholding corporate ethics.

10 Pertamina Sustainability Focus Areas align with global goals, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Pertamina's main SDG objectives include Poverty Goal #1, Quality Goal #4, Education,  Gender Equality Goal #5, Affordable and Clean Energy Goal #7,  Decent Work and Economic Growth Goal #8, Responsible Consumption and Production Goal #12, Climate Action Goal #13, Life Below Water Goal #14, Life on Land Goal #15, and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions Goal #16.
