Jakarta, December 2, 2021 – PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as a Pertamina Gas Subholding has succeeded in obtaining the ISO 55001 certificate: Asset Management System for the South Sumatra West Java (SSWJ) Pipeline. Certification is carried out through 2 (two) stages of external audit in September and October 2021.
The SSWJ pipeline has a total length of ±1.006 km consisting of SSWJ I with the Pagardewa-Bojonegara Gas Receiving Station Section and SSWJ II with the Grissik - Muara Bekasi Section. This Transmission Pipeline is also integrated with the Lampung FSRU which connects natural gas sources in Sumatra with the largest potential customers in West Java.
The audit process did not find any minor or major problems while there was a point in the Opportunity For Improvement, so PGN was recommended by the British Standard Institute Certification Body to obtain ISO 55001 certificate. This certification can strengthen the role of Gas Subholding in the management of natural gas infrastructure at an international standard.
PGN Director of Sales and Operations Faris Aziz explained that ISO 55001 can be a way of life for companies which is not just a certificate. But the reference must be a foundation in the daily performance of the company. Subholding Gas continues to strive to maintain and improve operational excellence aspects with international standards.
“Gas Subholding has vital infrastructure assets of natural gas. Hopefully, the existence of this ISO can encourage better asset management, to minimize risk, lest any incidents occur,” said Faris, (2/12/21).
Faris continued, ISO 55001 can be a value for stakeholders. In this case, SSWJ's assets have received international recognition. "The ISO 5500 management system can also encourage business growth and show stakeholders that the company’s asset management is taken seriously with a commitment to improving performance," said Faris.
The benefits of obeying ISO 55001 also enable the company to manage both short and long-term opportunities and assets effectively and efficiently. Regular review of various operational procedures will produce a well-targeted decision making and reduce risk.
The achievement of ISO 55001 is expected to be able to realize integrated and synergistic business processes within and between Gas Subholdings, improve services to all stakeholders, and bring PGN to manage an environmentally friendly natural gas infrastructure and support Pertamina's Oil and Gas Holding program towards new and renewable energy.**
