September 8, 2023 - Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, through its Sales Area in Central Sulawesi, held an audience with the Central Sulawesi Regional State Intelligence Agency (BIN) on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the BIN Office in Palu.
During the activity, Fakhri Rizal Hasibuan, Sales Area Manager Retail Central Sulawesi of Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, conveyed the purpose and objective of coordinating and collaborating on monitoring the subsidized fuels and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) distribution. He stated, "We are committed to collaborating with relevant parties in subsidized fuel and LPG distribution to ensure they reach the right targets in the Central Sulawesi region, especially in the Central Sulawesi BIN. We will exchange data and information to minimize misuse in the field."
Fakhri added that the targeted fuel and LPG subsidy programs are the government’s initiatives that need to be upheld. "This year, we started in March 2023 by implementing a QR Code system for diesel-fueled vehicle users, following the Presidential Regulation No. 191 of 2014 concerning the Provision, Distribution, and Retail Prices of Oil Fuels."
He further explained, "As for the targeted LPG subsidy program, we are currently in the data collection and data matching phase for the Central Sulawesi region, and the progress has reached 97% of registered 3 kg LPG stations, totaling 5,187 stations. This program aims to ensure that the 3 kg subsidized LPG distribution reaches its intended targets as defined by the government and to protect eligible consumers from those who are not entitled."
The Head of the Central Sulawesi Regional State Intelligence Agency, Brigadier General TNI Arman Dahlan S.IP, M.M., expressed his support for the collaboration, "We welcome this collaboration and hope that it will safeguard the distribution chain of subsidized fuel and LPG better, ensuring it genuinely benefits the deserving community. We appreciate the goodwill to establish coordinated relationships regarding data transparency, which will narrow the opportunities for irresponsible individuals to exploit the community’s needs."
The event was followed by a plaque exchange as a symbol of the joint commitment between Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region and the Central Sulawesi Regional State Intelligence Agency.
In a separate statement, Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, Area Manager of Communication, Relation & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, added, "Pertamina is open to coordinating with relevant parties, not limited to the Central Sulawesi BIN, which is a non-ministerial government institution in Indonesia responsible for intelligence tasks. We hope that this collaboration will limit the scope of irresponsible individuals exploiting subsidized fuel and LPG."
In line with this, Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, expressed his appreciation for the synergy between Pertamina and Law Enforcement Agencies in combating the subsidized fuel and LPG misuse, "We hope that this collaboration will further strengthen the relationships between institutions, especially in safeguarding subsidized fuel and LPG distribution.
