Jakarta, May 4, 2024 - Pertamina's commitment and consistency in implementing a sustainable Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) culture have been recognized globally.
Pertamina has achieved six prestigious awards from the World Safety Organization Indonesia Safety Culture Award (WISCA). These six awards were achieved by Badak LNG (3 awards), Pertamina Plaju Refinery (1 award), PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (PT KPI) Dumai Unit (1 award), and Nusantara Regas (1 award).
President Director & CEO of Badak LNG, Achmad Khoiruddin, stated that to achieve this award, Badak LNG underwent a rigorous verification process by the verification team, which meticulously examined the efforts made by Badak LNG in building and maintaining an excellent safety culture within the company.
"This achievement is the result of hard work and collaboration of all parties at Badak LNG. We will continue to strive to implement the best standards of safety and occupational health," expressed Khoiruddin.
The General Manager of RU III, Yulianto Triwibowo, stated that the Plaju Refinery officers continue to commit to and consistently implement OHS culture programs.
He said this appreciation is expected to stimulate the spirit to maintain and improve the safety culture implementation at the Plaju Refinery towards the Generative level by applying and increasing awareness of OHS aspects as culture.
General Manager of PT KPI Dumai Unit, Didik Subagyo, stated that this award is a tangible manifestation of appreciation for PT KPI Dumai Unit’s commitment, which always upholds the OHS culture aspect within the company.
"This appreciation is the result of discipline of all officers at PT KPI Dumai Unit who are committed to complying with safety aspects. This award serves as encouragement for all of us to strive for better in the future," expressed Didik Subagyo.
Head of the OHS Department at NR, Erwin Jonathan, stated that Nusantara Regas continues to be a pioneer and consistent in promoting excellent safety culture in the energy industry, one of its goals being to enhance ESG aspects in supporting the company's values.
"We are very proud and grateful for the WISCA-WPSCA 2024 award. This reaffirms that NR prioritizes safety and ensures that our operations always adhere to the highest safety standards," said Erwin Jonathan.
The WISCA awards are given to companies for their achievements in Occupational Health and Safety performance implemented by participants of the World Safety Organization Indonesia-Pakistan Safety Culture Award (WISCA-WPSCA) 2024, especially in building safety culture.
Several key points assessed by the WSO team include the measurement methods of the culture level utilized, evaluation of culture level measurement results, review of culture programs implemented within the company, and overall OHS performance including the implementation of the Company's Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3).
