Jakarta, September 17, 2021 – Pertamina’s commitment in implementing Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) program as well as the support for the SDGs invites appreciation from many parties. One of them is the awarding of Nusantara CSR Awards 2021 that was held at the Ramayana Terrace Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
In this event, President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawatiwas named as The Best CEO CSR of The Year. Moreover, Pertamina Group also received an award as Best of the Best CSR of The Year because all of Pertamina’s CSR activities are in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program point 8 namely supporting productive employment and economic growth.
The awards were received by Vice President (VP) CSR & SMEPP of Pertamina, Arya Dwi Paramita.
“The Best CEO CSR of The Year goes to the President Director of Pertamina, Mrs. Nicke Widyawati. This is because she is also the one who encourages many great CSR programs from Pertamina,” said La Tofi, Chairman of The La Tofi School of CSR in his speech.
La Tofi also said that Pertamina runs all of the CSR programs in a responsible manner. One of them is by calculating the impact of each program that was carried out.
“This is something that should be followed. Not only by other big SOEs but also by private companies. That the impact of the programs should also be taken into account,” he added.
In addition, La Tofi also took this opportunity to express his appreciation toward CSR program that was carried out by Pertamina Fuel Terminal Rewulu. Namely, empowering the disabled who are effected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“These kinds of things are of course with high creativity, that we hope new creative programs can be done in the following years,” said La Tofi.
Meanwhile, Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman expressed her gratitude toward the awards that were given. According to her, the support that is provided by Pertamina to the community through CSR programs is in line with the concept of the company’s spirit, Energizing You, as the energy for sustainable development.
“Pertamina as a business entity engaged in the energy sector is also closely related to this. Moreover, Pertamina formulates an approach, that is how we can provide benefits and support sustainable developments,” said Fajriyah.
Fajriyah added, Pertamina together with the Ministry of SOEs are also actively carrying out programs that are in line with sustainable development. This is a form of commitment to implement ESG aspects in the company.
“Pertamina and all of its group business units run social and environmental responsibility programs. It is hoped that in this pandemic era, we can build resilience from the community. This resilience and toughness are the ones that become the spirit of everyone throughout the group to be able to take a role on how we can provide benefits for the community and the environment around the company’s operational areas,” she said.
According to Fajriyah, Pertamina has also succeeded in developing the resilience of the fostered partners. Namely building the ability of micro and small businesses’ economic independence by adapting to the current situation. Meanwhile on the Creating Shared Value (CSV) aspect, one of the instances is in 2020, through the Enduro Entrepreneurship program, Pertamina managed to gain a turnover of more than IDR 1 billion from 64 assisted workshops.
“We see that here, building their (fostered partners) economic resilience is the capital of our programs in facing the pandemic,” she stated.
Fajriyah said that in the future, Pertamina will continue to strive in giving the best through every program that is carried out. At the same time, it is hoped that these sustainable development programs will continue to be maintained.
“The message of support toward the sustainable development goals continues to be voiced out to inspire. It is hoped that it can be carried out together with many parties for the good of the surroundings. If that inspiration is spread, hopefully, the kindness will also flourish in other places,” she said.**
