Balongan, November 26, 2021 - Domestically made equipment to increase the processing capacity of the Balongan Refinery, namely the Pressure Vessel Preflash Column and Preflash Condenser Drum for Pertamina's Balongan Refinery Development Master Plant (RDMP), has arrived.
The two types of equipment were brought from Pasuruan to Balongan by sea. It arrived at the New Jetty of the Balongan refinery on Thursday (25/11) afternoon. The equipment weighing hundreds of tons was brought into the Balongan refinery complex area on Friday (26/11) morning with strict safety supervision.
Area Manager Communication, Relations, and CSR of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Balongan Unit, Imam Rismanto, said, "This Preflash Column is the core equipment of the Balongan Refinery RDMP currently being worked on at the CDU Unit.
Imam said the Balongan RDMP Project is one part of the National Strategic Project (PSN) which aims to increase the processing capacity of the Balongan Refinery from 125 MBSD to 150 MBSD to meet domestic energy needs.
"With domestically made equipment, it proves that the Balongam RDMP Project supports the increase in the absorption of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) in addition to the large absoption of local workers," explained Imam.
The Preflash Column imported to Balongan has a height of 27 meters, a diameter of 3.5 meters, weighing 104.2 tons. It functions to separate crude into light fractions (Offgas and Naphtha) at the top and heavier fractions at the bottom, with the help of steam as a source of energy.
As for the Preflash Condenser Drum, it has a length of 6.3 meters, a diameter of 3 meters, and weighs 15.1 tons. It serves as a light fraction separator from C106 into Liquid (water and Naphtha) and Gas. The two types of equipment are made by PT Boma Bisma Indra (Persero) Pasuruan.**
