Deputy Governor of West Java: Incident Area Only Affected Storage Tank in Balongan Refinery, West Java Fuel Stock is Sufficient

Indramayu, March 30, 2021 - Immediately after the Balongan Refinery Area T-301 Tank incident, the Deputy Governor of West Java, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, visited the location to directly observe the field condition, Tuesday (30/3).

During the visit, the Deputy Governor confirmed that the incident's area was only on a fuel storage tank, not the main refinery. Therefore, it would certainly not interfere with the supply of fuel for the West Java region.

"After seeing the conditions, we are sure that the fuel supply is sufficient, including for supply during Ramadan 1442 H in West Java, it will not be disturbed," said Uu.

SVP of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations of Pertamina, Agus Suprijanto, said that after the T-301 tank incident, Pertamina ensured that the supply of fuel (BBM) was sufficient. Fuel and Avtur supply resilience are adequate in the range of 20 to 74 days. The national supply of Gasoline is 10.5 million barrels, Gasoil (Solar) 8.8 million barrels and Avtur 3.2 million barrels.

"Pertamina will ensure that the supply of fuel is sufficient because the supply scheme that has been implemented has anticipated an emergency scenario. The condition of the Balongan refinery has no problems. It is a normal shutdown, and replacement supplies will be carried out from the Cilacap and TPPI refineries," said Agus.

Agus added that apart from keeping the fuel supply sufficient, Pertamina also continues to ensure that the affected residents who are currently evacuating are well cared. Pertamina continues to distribute various assistance to affected residents.

Regarding the social impact, the Deputy Governor, Uu, is also sure that Pertamina has well anticipated the refugees. Therefore, there will be no harm to the community due to this incident. The West Java Provincial Government will also assist.

"We believe Pertamina is already professional in handling every incident that occurs in its operational area," concluded the Deputy Governor.**
