Director-General of the Ministry of Home Affairs Visits the Planjan Bumdes Pertashop in Cilacap

Cilacap, December 16, 2021 – The Director-General of Village Government Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Yusharto Huntoyungo, paid a working visit to one of the Pertashops managed by the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) Nogrohu Sejahtera in Cilacap district, precisely in Planjan Village, Kesugihan District on Wednesday (15/12).

The visit was to review a national pilot Pertashop that accelerates the growth of Pertashop in villages, a collaboration between the Ministry of Home Affairs and PT Pertamina (Persero) in increasing the economic value of rural communities carried out since early 2020.

Also attending were the Regent of Cilacap, Tatto Suwarto Pamudji, and the Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java, Putut Andriatno, and local community leaders.

Yusharto Huntoyungo appreciated the Cilacap Regency government and Pertamina for the village economic development program through Pertashop.

"Village empowerment will provide positive benefits for the progress of a region. The Cilacap Regency synergy, we hope, may be replicated in other regencies and cities," said Yusharto.

According to him, Pertashop in Cilacap may be utilized as a model for improving Pertamina's and the Ministry of Home Affairs' collaboration in providing low-cost non-subsidized fuel to the public, such as Pertamax.

"The Ministry of Home Affairs does not want to be half-hearted to develop community's business. Previously, agriculture was said to have little added value because many factors of production were difficult to reach the village. However, with closer Pertashop, business added value in the village is higher," he added.

The Regent of Cilacap, Tatto Suwarto Pamudji, provided a positive response, saying he will help the government and Pertamina programs, such as boosting the local economy through Pertashop.

"I am ready to support and oversee government programs, especially Pertashop, from the relevant agencies down to the village level. Therefore, this program is beneficial for the sustainability of village economic development, on top of being easier for the community to get services," said Tatto.

According to him, the interest of the community, especially entrepreneurs, to become Pertashop's partners continues to increase.

Many people are now interested in becoming Pertashop partners after learning how profitable and beneficial Pertashop is, especially through BUMNDes. Bumdes can also market local products in Pertashop," he explained.

Cilacap Regency is one of the areas with a relatively rapid distribution of Pertashop compared to other regions in Indonesia, according to Brasto Galih Nugroho, Area Manager of Communication, Relations, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Region, in a press statement in Semarang.

"So far, 63 Pertashops are operating in Cilacap Regency. This number is the highest distribution among other regions, especially in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY)," said Brasto.

According to Brasto, this demonstrates community support for Pertashop's presence as a source of high-quality energy closer to the community.

"In less than two years, the community has begun to recognize and receive benefits from Pertashop, which has provided easy access to energy in the village," he concluded.

Brasto said that Pertashop is also a new business field for local entrepreneurs and BUMDes.

"The presence of Pertashop has proven to increase the economic value of the village. Not only for the community to get quality fuel, but it also opens up job opportunities to drive the village economy as a business unit managed by BUMDes," said Brasto.

BUMDes Nogrohu Sejahtera in Planjan Village, for example, has distributed fuel an average of 2,300 liters per day through Pertashop.

"From the sale of fuel, BUMDes can generate a turnover of up to IDR 20 million per month," said Brasto.

In addition to fuel, BUMDes Nugrohu Sejahtera has also succeeded in exploring other business potentials in the Pertashop, including sales of LPG cylinder products, sales of Pertamina lubricant products, bus ticket sales agents, to managing futsal fields around the Pertashop location.

"These business units are managed in an integrated manner by BUMDes. Therefore, they have higher added value that is efficient and profitable," he added.

Brasto hopes that the success of BUMDes Nugrohu Sejahtera in developing the Pertashop business can be followed by other BUMDes, not only in Cilacap but in other areas. Furthermore, Brasto said Pertamina continues to open up opportunities for local entrepreneurs, both institutions and individuals, to invest in Pertashop.

"In addition to BUMDes, Pertamina has previously developed a partnership cooperation scheme with Islamic boarding schools pioneered for the first time in Cilacap, to improve the economy of pesantren," he said.

The public and consumers who need information about Pertamina's products and services, including establishing Pertashop, can take advantage of the Pertamina Call Center service at number 135 or through the MyPertamina application or the website www.pertamina.com.**
