During the Peak of Lebaran, Fuel & Gas Distribution Runs Smoothly
Jakarta, May 20, 2021 - After the peak period for Eid al-Fitr has passed, PT Pertamina (Persero) has assured that fuel and gas distribution in Indonesia functions safely and smoothly. Pertamina has dedicated the RAFI (Ramadhan Idul Fitri) Task Force, which had worked from April 26 to May 31, 2021.
Based on data from the RAFI 2021 Task Force as of May 16, 2021, the actual distribution of gasoline is 91.1 thousand Kilo Liters (KL) per day, an increase of 8 percent compared to the normal daily average of 84.1 thousand KL per day. The peak of fuel demand occurred on May 11-12, 2021, with the most consumption being Pertalite which reached 70% of the total gasoline realization.
In contrast to gasoline, gas oil (diesel) decreased by 10% from the daily average of 38.5 thousand KL to 34.3 thousand KL per day. The decline also occurred in the distribution of Avtur, which fell 25.6% from the daily average of 6.5 thousand KL per day to 4.9 thousand KL per day.
For gas products, LPG consumption increased by 27.5 thousand Metric Tons (MT) or 6.3% from the normal distribution of 25.8 thousand MT. Meanwhile, the national gas distribution is 590 BBtud, in which household gas network services increase by 10% - 12% with a volume of 8 million - 8.5 million m³ per day in usage during the month of Ramadan.
Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said that the task force formed can distribute, serve fuel and gas needs. The task force also educates the public on energy use.
"Energy distribution during the peak period of Eid is supported by the availability of sufficient supplies with durability between 16 - 73 days with refinery production reaching 857.3 MBSD. The smooth energy distribution is also achieved by reliable energy transportation modes, one of which is through Subholding Shipping which can operate ships as many as 255 units," explained Fajriyah.
Throughout the Task Force period, Pertamina also continues to run the Langit Biru Program to educate consumers, which has been running since 2020. Pertamina also provides special Ramadan Blessing prices for superior fuel products.
