Bali, October 3, 2021 - With 2025 participants, Pertamina's student-level business idea competition "Pertamuda, Seed and Scale 2021", 50 teams from 23 Indonesia State Universities passes the preliminary round.
The three best participants received coaching funds worth IDR 300 million, namely the Chickin team from Universitas Brawijaya, the Analytica team from Universitas Airlangga, and the Tekpang team from the University Indonesia.
The award was handed over directly by the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, at the "Awarding Night" event, which took place in Bali, October 1, 2021, witnessed by the Directors and management of the Pertamina Group.
Nicke Widyawati said, as a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) engaged in the energy sector, Pertamina is also obliged to support the Government in realizing the point 4 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Namely, quality education for all Indonesian citizens.
"We do not want to stop there. We have to go beyond. Like Pertamina, it must transform to a more sustainable direction. Therefore, the SDGs that we will achieve are not only number 4, but we have to go back to goal number 8 of the SDGs. Education can support the achievement of economic growth from the entrepreneurial aspect. It is essential considering that entrepreneurship is a contributor to 60% of Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP)," said Nicke.
It, added Nicke, is the background for Pertamina to hold a student-level business idea competition event, "Pertamuda Seed & Scale 2021". Namely, to encourage the growth of young entrepreneurs encourages new start-ups from various campuses, which can then increase to become Unicorns, as echoed by the Ministry of SOEs, all SOEs to take part in encouraging young Indonesian unicorns.
The Pertamuda Seed & Scale Competition is an event to prepare the entrepreneurial ethos among youth. With this activity, it is hoped that the millennial generation can become a digital economy generation that can create jobs and increase economic growth through innovation based on the knowledge that has been obtained from the education level.
"I am very proud of this achievement. In only three months, we can pick and choose innovations that are very relevant to the challenges faced by our nation and bring Indonesia to be better," said Nicke.
At Pertamuda, the Chickin Team brought the business idea of the Smart Farm Micro Climate Controller Application as a solution for chicken farming to be more productive and efficient. The business idea of the Analytica Team carries the Try Out Online Education Platform, which is specifically designed for preparation for the SBMPTN exam, Independent Examination, Service, and Olympics. Meanwhile, the Tekpang Team's Business Idea brings appropriate technology tools for processing liquid nitrate fertilizers to strengthen food security after the Covid-19 pandemic.
