Jakarta, September 3, 2021 – After various stages, three teams of young entrepreneurs finally managed to get a coaching money award of IDR 300 million from PT Pertamina (Persero). The three teams are from UI (University of Indonesia), Unair (Airlangga University) Surabaya, and UB (University Brawijaya) Malang. They qualified as winners in the First Seed & Scale Business Idea Competition (Pertamina Muda) 2021.
Before qualifying as winners, they must present their business ideas in front of the jury along with 20 other finalists on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, online. The jury consists of five people, namely Mia Khrisna Anggraini (VP New Ventures PT. Pertamina Persero), Komaidi Notonegoro (Founder Reforminer Institute), Dian Ono (Social Innovation Activist), Yan Rezky (Director of Dreamwealth Enterprise), and Inez Stefanie (Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Supernova Ecosystem).
A team from the UI campus named Tekpang presented a business idea about appropriate technological tools for liquid nitrate fertilizer manufacture as a solution to strengthening food security after the Covid-19 pandemic. The business idea presented is a tool based on contact glow discharge electrolysis technology as a renewable, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly technology in the manufacture of nitrate fertilizers as a solution to the scarcity of fertilizers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, a team from the Unair Surabaya campus, Analitica, brought a business idea about an online tryout platform specifically designed to prepare for CPNS and PPPK selection, UTBK SBMPTN, official selection, and the Olympics.
Then a team from the UB Malang campus, Chickin, brought a business idea about national food security. It is essential considering that there are still many people who consume less meat.
Micro Climate Controller Apps are here as an IoT solution for chicken farming. Therefore, it can be more productive and efficient that helps farmers operate smart cage management and make the optimal animal feed to meat conversion ratio (FCR) by reducing the amount of wasted feed and increasing farmer income. The Micro Climate Controller also provides harvest reports through the application (financial, DOC and feed records, stock, and administration) to assist integrators in the plasma-core model to collect cage report data.
The jury's assessment refers to aspects of originality and novelty of ideas, arguments, answering the needs of most users and can be a sustainable solution. It can be a product or service that can be realized and developed and has economic value and rapid development.
Initially, the Pertamuda Business Idea Competition (Pertamina Muda) Seed & Scale 2021, specifically for students, was attended by 2025 teams from campuses throughout Indonesia. However, after going through the curation stage, 50 teams from 23 campuses qualified as finalists in the demo day stage.
The demo day stage begins with four business workshops. Then in a three-day demo day guided by mentors from practitioners and business experts, they were trained, interviewed, and explored more about their business ideas. There was a long discussion and debate at this stage.
The mentoring team researched each team's business ideas one by one. After going through a lot of debate within the mentoring team, the Top 20 was finally decided. The 20 teams entered the determination stage. They presented their business ideas in front of the jury to determine the Top 3.
"Even during the pandemic, all are productive, producing innovative works. Although it cannot be carried out face-to-face, it does not reduce the essence of the activity. We carry out this activity online because we follow government regulations regarding PPKM," said Fajriyah Usman, Acting Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of PT Pertamina (Persero), on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Fajriyah congratulated all participants, especially for the team that entered the Top 3. Fajriyah hopes that the business ideas initiated by each team can soon be realized and developed, to stimulate the business world, grow the community's economy, get benefits and benefits, and create new jobs.
