Ensure Community Health, Pertamina to Add Posts in Balikpapan

To ensure community health, Pertamina cooperates with Pertamina Hospital Balikpapan to provide health posts in Kampung Baru Ulu and Kampung Atas Air. Since Thursday (5/4), the Health Posts also provided at Nenang Sub-district, Penajam. This post serves medical check-up and free medication. 

In addition, gas test is conducted several times a year to ensure there were no gas concentration exceeds the normal level. The level of gas checked include oxygen availability, carbon level and H2S level. 

During the inspection, Oxygen level is on the normal range with 19 – 23%, whereas carbon is below 20 ppm, combustile gas below 5% LEL and H2S below 10 ppm. As for the result of today’s inspection, the oxygen level has shown 20,8%, carbon 0 ppm, combustible gas 0% and H2S 0 ppm. In addition, the Company also performs socialization related to matters which needs to be paid attention in the current condition and countermeasures during such conditions.

Meanwhile, the process of oil spill cleaning was still ongoing. Restoration of oil spill in jetty 1 is conducted using vacuum truck equipped with oil boom and oil spill dispersant. Moreover, the restoration in Kampung atas Air and Kampung Baru is conducted with vacuum truck with the support of oil absorbant. 

In addition, from Semayang Port to Balikpapan Plaza, the restoration is conducted with vacuum truck to clean the remaining oil spill. The remains in Penajam is handled by Oil Spill Dispersant Spraying. The restoration of oil spill is performed offshore in Balikpapan bay area using oil skimmer and tug boat.
