Padang, April 18, 2022 - Pertamina formed a Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) Task Force to ensure the community's energy needs. The RAFI Task Force implementation starts from April 11 to May 10, 2022.
"The RAFI Task Force will work 24 hours to ensure that the community's energy needs are properly fulfilled," Area Manager of Communication Relations & CSR of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Taufikurachman said on Sunday (17/4/2022).
Taufikurachman admitted that his party is ready to support government policies that allow homecoming travel. According to him, this year's homecoming flow is expected to experience a spike, especially after two years of the pandemic, where people cannot travel to their hometowns.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut predicts fuel and LPG needs increase during the RAFI Task Force period. There will be an increase in demand of at least 8.5 percent for Gasoline and four percent for Gasoil (diesel) compared to the average sales in March 2022. This has taken into account the increase in homecoming traffic will be dominated by private cars and motorcycles.
In addition, his party also predicts that LPG consumption will increase in Ramadan this year with an estimate of 6.7 percent compared to the average sales in March 2022.
He explained, as for the potential for crowded tourist areas in West Sumatra (West Sumatra), such as Bukittinggi City, Padang City, Tanah Datar Regency, Payakumbuh City, Limapuluh Kota Regency, Pariaman City and Pesisir Selatan Regency. Pertamina has prepared additional services, including standby petrol stations, standby LPG outlets, motorists, tank trucks, and Pertashop.
Several petrol stations are on standby 24 hours in West Sumatra. It includes 14,252,511 gas stations in Payakumbuh Regency, 14,252,543 Bukittinggi gas stations, 14,255,103 Pariaman gas stations, and 14,252,501 gas stations in Padang City.
Pertamina Patra Niaga has also coordinated with the regional government, the Department of Transportation (Dishub), the Regional Police (Polda), the National Armed Forces, and banks to ensure that fuel and LPG distribution can continue.
"The fuel and LPG stock and distribution are sufficient and smooth," Taufikurachman said.
