Environmental Awareness Excitement: More Than 9,000 Visitors Enliven the Pertamina Eco-YouthFest 2024

Jakarta, September 22, 2024 – More than 9,000 visitors packed the Pertamina Eco-YouthFest 2024 at Hutan Kota GBK on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The crowd, largely consisting of Gen Z, enjoyed various exciting events, including environmental care workshops, live podcasts, concerts, eco-friendly food stalls, games, and many other engaging activities.  

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, the Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, stated that the visitors’ enthusiasm for Pertamina Eco-YouthFest 2024 demonstrates the growing awareness among the younger generation about the importance of sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyles.  

“Pertamina will continue to educate and encourage the younger generation to join in maintaining a sustainable Indonesia through environmentally friendly lifestyle practices,” said Fadjar.  

Fadjar added that Pertamina had implemented various Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs, specifically raising environmental awareness among the youth, promoting sustainable lifestyles, and encouraging clean and eco-friendly energy utilization.  

The sustainable lifestyle practices showcased at Pertamina Eco-YouthFest 2024 received positive feedback, including from Naomi, a university student residing in Cibubur, East Jakarta.  

"The event was enjoyable! We brought our own tumblers and lunch boxes, which helps raise Gen Z’s awareness about environmental conservation," she said.  

She also mentioned the importance of Pertamina, as a state-owned enterprise, continuing to support eco-friendly lifestyle practices. “Hopefully, Pertamina will keep improving eco-green initiatives,” she added.  

Similar sentiments were shared by Zaki and Zuhri Saptahadi, students from Krisnadwipayana University, Pondok Gede. “I have always been interested in environmental issues, and there are so many workshops here. The event is fun and enjoyable and helps boost creativity,” said Zaki.  

Rizal Givari, a visitor from Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, also appreciated the excitement of the Pertamina Eco-YouthFest 2024. “This event made us realize the importance of practicing an environmentally friendly lifestyle,” said Rizal.
