Jakarta – To complete various benefits given to the consumers, PT Pertamina (Persero) has signed an agreement contract with PT Visa Worldwide Indonesia (Visa) to prepare cashless transaction for their loyal consumers.
Jumali, Vice President Retail Fuel Marketing Pertamina said that as an Oil and Gas state-owned enterprise that provide fuel across Indonesia, Pertamina try to bring convenience for consumers. One of which is by facilitate transaction of safe and convenience fuel purchase in Pertamina SPBU. To manifest the program, Pertamina establish partnership with PT Visa Worldwide Indonesia (Visa) for the payment using Visa card in Pertamina SPBU across Indonesia.
“We understand the tradition of paying with cash will be a choice for people in the future. For that matter, we keep on trying to increase service by providing cashless transaction for our consumers,” said Jumali during the signing in Jakarta (10/10).
According to him, Visa as the pioneer of the biggest digital transaction in the world is Pertamina’s strategic partner in creating transaction pattern in SPBU by cashless. “The establishment of partnership with Visa is one of our commitment in providing convenience and comfort for drivers in Indonesia,” he added.
In order to enliven the Youth Pledge Day on October 28 and to strengthen this cashless program, Pertamina and Visa will launch a promotional program titled "Bangkit Pemuda Indonesia with Pertamina and Visa". Pertamina and Visa will give rewards to loyal consumers of Pertamax Turbo and Pertamina Dex in the form of Pertamina fuel voucher worth Rp 50,000 directly for consumers who do transactions with a nominal value of Rp 300.000 using Visa credit and debit cards. The program will start on 16 - 31 October 2017, at 80 Pertamina gas stations spread throughout Indonesia with special marks.
Harianto Gunawan as the President Director of PT. Visa Worldwide Indonesia (Visa) said, Viva is honored to have the opportunity to commit with Pertamina in giving digital solution. Aside to decrease the use of cash, consumers will feel a better transaction experience in Pertamina outlets faster, easier, and secure.
“As Pertamina strategic partner, Visa will bring digital payment technology including contact and payment by using cellphone as part of the digital roadmap, along with the shifting trend of public payments in Indonesia by using cellphone,” Harianto enclosed.
Previously, in a study conducted by Visa who study consumer behavior in payment, Consumer Payment Attitudes Study conducted in 2017, reveals that three out of four respondents will choose cashless payments when payment with such method is widely available. In addition to that, 70 percent of respondents said they were interested in trying it.
Moreover, aside of it being beneficial to the government, electronic payments can create a more stable and open business climate, electronic payments also help to minimize economic activities that involve cash as well as provide payment guarantees for merchants and encourage financial inclusion.
