Balikpapan, May 1, 2022 - Balikpapan Unit Refinery Operations ahead of this year's Eid al-Fitr will continue to run normally. It was done to support the readiness and smooth fuel fulfillment before, during, and after the Eid al-Fitr holiday. It was conveyed by the GM of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Balikpapan Unit, Wahyu Sulistyo Wibowo (Thursday, 28/04).
"Currently, all production units at the Balikpapan Refinery are running normally. We will continue to ensure the refinery reliability so that it can continue to run normally before, during, and after Eid al-Fitr," Wahyu said.
According to Wahyu, the Balikpapan RU Unit has prepared several items for this Eid al-Fitr. The first step is to ensure that personnel are properly trained to operate the refinery. Second, make sure that the crude oil supply has been adequately treated. Third, secure the refinery's reliability and provide the materials required. Fourth, make sure that the fuel produced can be delivered in accordance with Pertamina's marketing needs.
"Although the Government has issued a leeway for homecoming travels, we have made restrictions on leave arrangements to ensure refinery operators meet the requirements," Wahyu said.
For smooth distribution, KPI Balikpapan Unit has coordinated with Pertamina Patra Niaga. " We also communicate and coordinate with Pertamina Patra Niaga as fuel distribution spearhead to the community. So that later there will be no obstacles in the fuel supply," he explained.
In carrying out this task, Wahyu also expects support from stakeholders. "We really hope for support from the community around the refinery, Pertamina Group, Security Forces, KSOP, and all parties related to refinery operations," he hoped.
"Hopefully, all will be conducive, and people who celebrate Eid al-Fitr can move smoothly, orderly, and still obey health protocols. On behalf of my company, I also wish you happy fasting, and soon we will welcome Eid al-Fitr," he concluded.**
