From Culinary to Fashion, Thousands of MSMEs Products are Ready to Enliven Pertamina SMEXPO 2020
Jakarta, September 3, 2020 – The Pertamina SMEXPO 2020 event is just in a matter of days. The biggest MSMEs virtual exhibition event in Indonesia will be held on September 9-11, 2020. There are thousands of products from 100 Pertamina's Fostered MSMEs from different areas of Indonesia who will be present to enliven the event.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said that Pertamina prepares the virtual exhibition as a venue that revives the MSMEs industry from the COVID-19 pandemic impact. This event also proves the quality of domestic MSMEs products that have been recognized by many parties. "Pertamina's Fostered MSMEs products have a quality that is recognized by the international market. So, we have to maximize this potential," she said.
Fajriyah added, to attract public interest, visitors of Pertamina SMEXPO can explore four major categories of MSMEs products at Pertamina SMEXPO 2020. The four are Food & Beverage, Craft / Furniture, Agribusiness, and Fashion. With these categories, it easier for people to find the type of goods they want.
Each participant and category has its respective advantages. Fajriyah gave an example; for culinary, there is Rendang Erika from Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, which is well known for its delicious taste and dominates the dry rendang market in the area, or Hitara Black Garlic, which has been exported to many countries. For the craft category, one of them is Darmawati Halik's Neon Kreasi, where the craft is created from used neon, which is transformed into a beautiful glass decoration.
The category of Agribusiness is Mejuah-Juah, which is a spice oil that is believed to be effective and good for maintaining health. Meanwhile, the fashion category is Ikat Bhima Tenun, owned by Riyan Hidayat, which got enough attention after participating in the China-ASEAN Expo 2019 (Caexpo 2019), which took place in Nanning, China. There is also Evan Setiawan's Azizah Songket with the advantages of natural dyes used, ranging from roots, bark, seeds, and wood. Therefore it produces soft colors and environmentally friendly.
