Jakarta, November 19, 2021 - Pertamina fully supports the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team, which is the Indonesian MotoGP Team competing in the 2021 MotoGP racing event. At the same time, Pertamina also fully supports motorsport in Indonesia through the presence of an international racing arena, namely Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit which will hold the international world superbike race on November 20-21, 2021.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero) Fajriyah Usman said that the support for the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit racing arena as well as the Indonesian racing team is in line with Pertamina's mission, considering that automotive sports are closely related to fuel and lubricant products which are Pertamina's core business.
"In addition to support for the racing arena, we also support Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team because it is an Indonesian MotoGP Team that competes in MotoGP, especially the MOTO 2 (Two) class in the 2021 season," said Fajriyah.
According to Fajriyah, the SAG Team is very competitive with qualified and experienced racers. For example, there is Bo Bendsneyder (22 years old) a Dutch motorcycle racer who has Indonesian blood, who is currently joining Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team with motorcycle number 64.
Since 2017, Bo Bendsneyder has joined the Redbull KTM Ajo Team for the first time and made it to the twice in England and Malaysia races. In the same year, Bo finished motorcycle racing in the Czech Republic in 4th place and ended the racing season in 15th position.
In 2018, Bo moved up to Moto 2 in the Tech 3 team and finished as the best rider in 14th place in Thailand. The following year, Bo joined the MPS team with the best finish in 13th position in the Grand Prix Of The Americas Race and ended that racing season in 26th position. In 2020, still, on the same team, he managed to finish in his best position that is the 8th position in Valencia. And, Bo ended that season in 23rd position.
Bo Bendsneyder was present in central Lombok to greet fans as well as take a group photo at the MyPertamina booth at the Lombok International Airport Arrival Terminal on Friday, November 19, 2021 afternoon.
