Jakarta, November 20, 2021 - A total of 12 Pertamina officers showed go productive spirit by producing innovations in the energy sector. The innovator officers received the 2021 Dharma Karya award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM) of the Republic of Indonesia. The Dharma Karya Energy and Mineral Resources award is given as a form of appreciation to individuals or institutions/companies who are very instrumental in their thinking, wisdom, decisions, actions, and development, as well as discoveries in the energy and mineral resources sector that have a very significant impact on meaningful progress in the national development, especially in the energy and mineral resources sector.
For this reason, this award is given to innovators in the field of energy and mineral resources from the Government, SOE, and national private companies. This annual award is also part of the commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Mining and Energy in 2021.
Pertamina officer, Mohamad Husni Mubarok (PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy) received the highest award Dharma Karya Utama for his success in creating a real-time measurement tool for mass flow rate and enthalpy of two phases.
Another Pertamina officers also received the Dharma Karya Madya award, the second-highest award, won by the PC Prove Elang Gurun Team (Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional 5 International) for their success in optimizing the placement of new wells and adding resources (56 MMBOE) through passive seismic engineering in the Algerian MLN Field.
Whereas the other 10 awards were Dharma Karya Muda, the third-highest, which were achieved by PGN, RU II Dumai, Pertagas, and PGE.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fajriyah Usman said the award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources showed appreciation for the various innovations that Pertamina officers continued to carry out in upstream, processing, and downstream.
“Pertamina needs to continue to innovate, should remain enthusiastic in any conditions. The challenges ahead will certainly not be easier but more challenging, in line with the company's aspirations to pursue a target market value of US$ 100 billion,” said Fajriyah.
According to Fajriyah, in line with global challenges, Pertamina must be more solid, agile, and adaptive with the spirit of "One Pertamina" that must be maintained.
"Pertamina Group must continue to strengthen the spirit of business transformation in all sectors with full commitment to implement Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) aspects so that they can run their business sustainably in the future," stated Fajriyah.
Fajriyah added, Pertamina's current ESG rating has increased significantly by 28.1 and is considered to be at Medium risk compared to the previous that reached 41.6 (Severe Risk) in February 2021. With this score, Pertamina occupies 15th position out of 252 companies in the Oil & Gas industry, and 8th position in the integrated Oil & Gas sub-industry. Pertamina is in the same cluster (Medium Risk) with global companies such as Repsol, ENI, PTT Thailand, and TotalEnergies. This position was recorded better than BP, Exxon, and Chevron.
