Jakarta, August 31, 2021 – Pertamina and Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to improve synergy to strengthen the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in the implementation of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework, particularly in the governance aspect in all lines of business and operations of the company.
As an SOE, Pertamina manages the energy business as a whole, from upstream to downstream, from national strategic programs to government-assigned programs. Everything should be carried out by using GCG in the framework of an integrated ESG implementation and in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) no. 16 regarding the development of effective and accountable institutions with zero tolerance of fraud or corruption. Its implementation must also be following the policies and values that are set for all SOEs namely AKHLAK.
“This Trust, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative (AKHLAK) must be applied as a value that becomes our guidance in carrying out all of Pertamina’s business activities,” stated President Director of Pertamina Nicke Widyawati in Leaders Forum, GCG Socialization with the Chairman of KPK Firli Bahuri, last Thursday, 26 August 2021.
Nicke expects that the continuous support and supervision from KPK in all of the business activities of such a large scale and involving many stakeholders can run well through the application of the right GCG, including the efforts to prevent corruption.
This is in line with the President Commissioner and all of the Board of Commissioners of PT Pertamina (Persero) who consistently directing the management to put transparency and integrity forward in running the business.
“Pertamina itself, from the Board of Commissioners and the Board of Directors strongly encourage the implementation of GCG. We have issued and signed the New Pertamina Clean Charter that is also in accordance with the ISO Anti-bribery Management System,” said Nicke.
Moreover, the President Commissioner on several occasions expected that everything can be pushed towards transparency and digitization with New Pertamina Clean.
Nicke also hopes that all of Pertamina officers (Perwira) not be afraid and hesitate to carry out the mandate in maintaining national energy security.
“With the synergy of Pertamina-KPK, it is hoped all of the roles that Pertamia must carry out for the good of the nation remain safe in the GCG corridor and at the same time encourage the implementation of ESG,” concluded Nicke.**
