Holds 414 Online Training, Pertamina Strengthens MSEs Digitalization During the Pandemic

Jakarta, September 6, 2021 - Since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, PT Pertamina (Persero) has made many adjustments, especially in fostering Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). Through the MSE Funding program, Pertamina has carried out many innovations in digitizing coaching so that the fostered partners can quickly adapt. Therefore, they become upgraded MSEs, while encouraging efforts of achieving Sustainable Development Goals, especially at point 8, increasing inclusive and sustainable economic growth, productive employment opportunities, and comprehensive and decent work.

Evidently, from 2020 until mid-2021, Pertamina has held as many as 414 online training, both through social media and webinars. Pertamina also conducts communication clustering through WA Group of Foster Partners in each sector to share information, knowledge and also opening up business matching opportunities.

In addition, Pertamina facilitates fostered partners to be registered in a digital-based procurement platform with the synergy of nine SOEs: SOE Digital Market (PaDi) for market expansion. An e-learning application is also provided at www.learningumkm-pertamina.com, along with assistance to market products through marketplaces. There is also optimization of social media channels, such as through Instagram and YouTube @gen_umkm.

The entire program was delivered by Vice President of CSR & SMEPP Management of Pertamina, Arya Dwi Paramita, in the Pertamina UMK On Air Webinar on Sonora radio last Saturday (28/8). Arya believes that, in addition to the fostered MSEs, MSEs who participate in the Rumah BUMN (RB) incubation program play a significant role in developing MSEs that Go modern, Go digital, Go online, and Go global.

Arya added that in addition to the digitalization program above, Pertamina is also preparing the Pertamina SMEXPO 2021 virtual exhibition. This activity will be held in conjunction with the East Kalimantan Proud Movement for Indonesia (GBBI Kaltim) agenda in October. "Through Pertamina SMEXPO, the fostered MSEs can adapt to Go Digital and Go Online-based business ecosystem that is growing massively," he said.

On the same occasion, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, appreciated Pertamina's digitization activities. According to him, all parties must be able to help MSEs to enter the digital world. "Selling anything, now you have to enter the digital ecosystem if you want to be known by many people and expand marketing," said Sandi.

He also has high hopes for the implementation of the upcoming GBBI activities. "GBBI will encourage more MSMEs to enter the digital world. In 2020, 3.7 million MSMEs have entered the digital platform. A total of 11.7 MSMEs have gone digital. This value is higher than the target of 8 million MSMEs. Everything is accelerated because of the pandemic. In the future, the target of 30 million MSMEs can be onboarding in 2023 to 2024," he concluded.

Through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can drive the economy--energy that fuels and energy that produce sustainable growth.

Pertamina also implements ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all its operational areas. It is part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community.**
