Jakarta, May 22, 2021 - PT Pertamina (Persero) has many ways to help micro and small businesses (MSE) to be adaptive to Covid-19. One of them is through the Pinky Movement entrepreneurial enhancement program. This program also supports and ensures the correct use of LPG.
Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, explained that the Pinky Movement program is part of corporate social responsibility targeting small businesses. "Its mission is to upgrade small businesses through business capital and coaching," she said.
According to Fajriyah, Pertamina distributed business capital to 36 Bright Gas stations and 21 small businesses in Indonesia under the Pinky Movement initiative in the first quarter of 2021. This number will continue to increase in line with the company's target of 500 subsidized LPG outlets and 140 small businesses in the culinary sector.
Why do subsidized LPG outlets for small businesses in the culinary sector use target subsidized LPG? Fajriyah explained this is following the original purpose of this program being formed. Namely by emphasizing concrete efforts to reduce the burden of subsidies and become right on target.
"Therefore, it opens the opportunities for LPG outlets MSE to develop their business by selling non-subsidized LPG. MSEs who use subsidized LPG who wish to switch to using non-subsidized LPG can get more benefits by joining this program," explained Fajriyah.
The Pinky Movement program also provides added value to the company by involving small businesses to use subsidized LPG to switch to non-subsidized LPG. Therefore, it can support employment and economic growth, implementing the Goal 8 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
By joining this program, outlets and MSEs in the culinary sector can experience several benefits. It starts from increasing the turnover of MSEs, increasing the entrepreneurial competence of MSEs, and expanding the MSE market.
For this contribution, the Pinky Movement Program won several awards, including Best of the Best in the Sustainability Category: Pertamina for the Pinky Movement Program and the winner of the Gold predicate - Sustainability Category, CSV Sub-category for the Pinky Movement Program at the BUMN Corporate Communication event and the Sustainability Summit. (BCOMSS) 2021; Top 10 Millennials Innovation Summit at the Ministry of SOE; an award by the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) Indonesia Presidential Award 2020.
According to Fajriyah, through the Pinky Movement Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can drive the wheels of the economy--energy that becomes fuel and energy that generates sustainable growth.
Pertamina continues to promote SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) point 8 accomplishments by implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) based programs in all of its operational areas. It is part of the environmental and social responsibility to realize economic benefits in the community.**
